Hello,
I would like to know if you have air purifiers at home. I live in an apartment with my girlfriend but she increasingly have difficulties to breathe because of the environmental pollution (we live near a highway) and besides this, she smokes... I almost convinced her to quit smoking but still the pollution matter remains then I wanna buy an air purifier: So I'd like to know if anyone already use the purifier Clair bf 2025 (because we do not want ionizer that produces ozone).
My bionare smells like weed.
Air filters for the most part are useless unless it is an all-house electrostatic.
There might be some specific allergen in your apartment which is triggering her respiratory problem. I suggest you take the opinion of an allergy specialist.
I guess air purifiers can help to a large extent. I have a colleague who claims his asthma attacks have come down considerably ever since he started using an air purifier. Is this the model http://go-clair.com/ you were referring to ? The price is reasonable and I liked the compact design. The reviews online look pretty good. I think you can invest in this model or the bigger TD 1866 depending on the size of the room. Since you mentioned she smokes often you'll need to clean the filter regularly but I think you just need to vacuum the clair filter so it shouldn't be a problem.
btw you should dissuade her from smoking indoors. Try gifting her an e cigarette to begin with.
I have a HoMedics purifier to reduce the dust levels in my room.
I recently moved it around the house a little on some sort of purification mission and from what I can notice, it did help dust levels so if I can imagine it'd work great for allergens.
I'm not too sure about smoke though. My grandfather does smoke in this house and my room has zero smoke smell, which is the room my purifier is always in, so perhaps.
Either way I can recommend purifiers with a silent mode. Its nice to have a cool breeze and hum during the night.

I'm pretty sure that if you smoke, no matter how near a highway you live, the amount of pollutants you inhale from the air is far less than what you would get from smoking alone.
No I don't smoke at all but when she smokes I smoke at the same time but not on my own because the smoke remains in our place and I don't like it...
To reply to udo I don't wanna buy the big one but I was thinking of buying the little green one which is cute and looks like HP (I am thinking to put it on my desk just next to my screen) but since it's small I was wondering if it's really efficient as much as the big one. Maybe I should buy two little ones even if it will be a little bit more expansive than buying the big one ahah
I know how annoying secondhand smoke can get. My dad used to be a chain smoker. The moment I stepped inside my home I used to feel like it was one big ashtray. Most smokers are oblivious to the discomfort they cause to the ppl around.
If its a large area you want to cover then the bigger model is a better option but then it seems light and portable so no harm in going for two of the smaller models. Anyways both use the same air filter.
It does look very small but then the size of air purifiers depends on the fan size and I notice this Clair has a patented e2f filter which uses static electricity in the filter fiber which means it doesn't need a powerful fan to draw in air.

What I'm saying is, your girlfriend's breathing difficulties aren't because of the air pollution, they're because of her smoking.

Yes so since it doesn't need big fan, I wonder how it works in reality. Do you have one?

I haven't tried Clair but I have used a Honeywell air purifier in the past which was way too noisy, consumed lot of power and needed filter replacement too often which drove up the cost of the air purifier so I stopped using it and to me this Clair air purifier looks notches better than the traditional air purifiers in the market considering it uses e2f filter which have fibers with electrostatic charge as well as a small fan which can draw in air . So when you switch it on all the contaminants in the air get trapped to the surface very easily.
