When his estranged daughter falls ill, he is determined to make peace with her before it's too late. He develops an ingenious escape plan, and recruits a dysfunctional band of escapists - misfits with unique skills required for their daring plan and united by desire to escape their hell hole of an existence.
From what I have gathered, The Escapist is not a very well known movie, that's too bad. I wont write a huge article, I will simply say: This is a great movie. Decent action, drama, good characters, good acting, great story. It has a unique filming and editing style, which makes for an even more interesting film. It's not your typical prison break movie. It may seem like that at first, but at the end you will be surprised, and hopefully impressed. The trailer does not do the movie justice. It kept my attention the whole time, kept me intrigued and interested. I will watch this movie many times over before I even begin to tire of it. I ask you, please watch it, then come back here and tell us what you thought. Is there buttrape? If not, then it is not a realistic prison movie.

When I read the title I thought it was to do with The Escapist and Ben Yahtzee
When I read the title I thought it was to do with The Escapist and Ben Yahtzee
Yeah, me too.
I love escaping-prison movies. Going to watch it tonight.
Its one of the best I have ever seen Tyvak.
Yeah, me too.
Ditto, I was preparing a hilariously witty r8 l8 comment.
Brian Cox is awesome.
yeah, he did a great job.
I saw it 2 years ago at school. Simply brilliant. If you like Shawshank Redemption or Prison break, then you'll definitely love this.
Probably one of my favorite parts of this movie is the pacing. The transitions between the actual escape and the planning are absolutely brilliant.
The guy from Band of Brothers? lol
It's got Seu Jorge in it! He's in The Life Aquatic, I love that movie..
