In 140 AD, twenty years after the unexplained disappearance of the entire Ninth Legion in the mountains of Scotland, young centurion Marcus Aquila (Tatum) arrives from Rome to solve the mystery and restore the reputation of his father, the commander of the Ninth. Accompanied only by his British slave Esca (Bell), Marcus sets out across Hadrian's Wall into the uncharted highlands of Caledonia - to confront its savage tribes, make peace with his father's memory, and retrieve the lost legion's golden emblem, the Eagle of the Ninth.
The movie is PG-13 so there were no entrails being ripped out or blood spewing. When my friend told me of this movie I thought it was going to have a ton of bull mythical creature fights and all of this nonsense drama. Well it does indeed have some drama but not so much as to bore you. If you like movies that involve ancient civilizations than please go and see it.
i saw it yesterday, it was okay. nothing really special though in my opinion
It looks pretty flat and uninspired. Doesn't seem to be many unique factors about it.
looks meh. Ill watch it when theirs a nice quality version online, defiantly doesn't look good enough to see in theaters
wasn't really all that good to be honest
I think its kind of interesting that this (about a guy trying to find a sign of the 9th legion) came out right after Centurion which is sort of about how the 9th disappeared in the first place. Coincidence probably. Centurion was a shit movie but I still enjoyed it, this one will probably be the same.

it's pretty much Centurion part 2
You know what we need? We need a movie where it turns out the 9th Legion got kidnapped by aliens, or got caught in a time warp and ended up fighting dinosaurs.

It's kinda cool how they had them do generically American accents instead of generically English ones.
Channing Tatum couldn't act his way out of a cardboard box
Saw the trailer for this film a while back when I saw Tron or something I think. Was laughing my ass off at the corny acting.
Channing Tatum sucks ass in everything
But I'm glad directors keep casting him, it helps me avoid shit films
Yeah, I saw this. Centurion is way better.
Lots of Lorica Anachronacum, [sp]and the Loricae worn by the surviving Ninth members look like they were chipped right off of Trajan's Collumn.[/sp] The opening sequence was nice, [sp]but then the rest of the film is basically them walking/riding across empty hills and occasionally getting attacked. Not to mention that snoozer of a final battle, I had fully expected Marcus' former Legion to come to his rescue and was surprised that all we got was the equivalent of an Iron Age bar fight between "Seal People" and some former Legionarii gone native.[/sp]
