Somewhat cliched* imagery and style, but it works well enough. I kinda like them anyways, especially the festival scene. *Girls, stupid hair, hot pants... rock n roll right?
Sepia filter =/= artistic. Really. I am so tired of all these filters, it's almost like a fad. Almost every photographer I see applies filters to the pic. Worst of all, that doesn't make it look any better.
The first image made me think it was going to be a troll thread. Anyway, most of the images look pretty well, but some looked just like, as said before, a little bit cliche, like the fifth picture, it looks like someone just turned the camera color setting on sepia and took a quick picture of his friends at a post-concert party. But that's not to say he didn't have any good ones, because, well, he has some pretty good ones. The third picture, in particular, really caught my eye. He seems to be on the right track. :)
i was there! :) as for the other photos... there's something in them, but they are lacking a lot. the actual quality of the image is pretty poor - i don't know what kind of camera your friend is using - the cliché filters will put a lot of people off at first glance, also the actual content and composition of the photos could be better. music photography is a hard thing to get right, and (i could be wrong but) assuming your friend is a beginner, perhaps he would be better trying a different area to start out in?
He's read all these and has taken all the advice. Any more comments, it's all very useful.
that second picture is really cool, I love the vintage feel with the texture and light damage, though it's too bright down the center
