Ok I have a HP dv6000 that has a fried motherboard and a nice 15.6" screen. Is it possible using it for a desktop using a converter, I have seen somewhere that laptop screens use LVDS socket. If I can get a LVDS to vga/dvi converter can it be used? What I want to is get a touchscreen panel and make a nice little touchscreen monitor for photoshop/drawing, and for it to be dual screened with my new laptop. THis is what I was looking at for a converter curcuit board http://www.dpieshop.com/kontron-crttolcd5-flat-panel-controller-for-lvds-lcds-vgadvi-input-21024-p-408.html
i know you can take off the screen of hp laptops. so take it off and see if you can find someway of plugging it in or by using numorous cables and adapters?
If you do get it working make sure you get a pressure sensitive touch screen otherwise you'll have very boring drawings.
Google is your friend. Especially when you answered your own question. Naturally you can, or did you expect the converter to be a paperweight?
