• Something is severely wrong with my jaw

Disclaimer: the only reason I'm posting a thread about a physical condition of mine is because FP is a massive forum, and many of its users have had many different experiences; some of the users may have gone through this too. For the past few weeks, randomly after waking up one day, opening my jaw made a loud POP noise. I ignored it at first, but every day as I ate it became more annoying. Now, I can hardly chew, speak or let alone swallow. Even the slightest opening of my jaw makes a CRACK noise and it hurts a bit. Has anyone had a similar problem? How did you fight through it?
Same answer as any other medical help thread: Go see a doctor. That's not normal.
You have TMJ.
you're going to die.
lock jaw? [editline]09:49PM[/editline] have you been cut by any rusty nails, wire ect?
Happened to be many times, but never for a few weeks. Better go see a doctor.
My jaw sometimes locks, but you should really see a doctor. Urgently.
hurrr i hurt myself oh i know ill make a thread on facepunch before seeing a doctor
I have had this. Went to the dentist. You have to stop chewing so much. If you chew too much something about the joints getting sand in their vaginas. Chewing gum = bad I'm actually serious.
Your death will be so slow.
lock jaw? [editline]09:49PM[/editline] have you been cut by any rusty nails, wire ect?
Lock jaw is actually your jaw locking, this isn't it.
That's not normal.
Sounds pretty normal, But still see a doctor or dentist.
Your jaw is cracking when it moves.
This is the preemptive of lock jaw. I have it now as well. I have no idea what caused mine but not talking or chewing for a while might help.
You should see dentist or doctor.
I've been getting the same thing lately, I'll go see a doctor as soon as possible.
Go see a doctor. Now.
have you been doing too much meth/amphetamines?
have you been doing too much meth/amphetamines?
Of course a dude named stayblazed 420 with a bud leaf as an avatar would ask about drugs.
Of course a dude named stayblazed 420 with a bud leaf as an avatar would ask about drugs.
Because there's no way that a physical condition could be caused by drugs or anything.
You have TMJ.
It's this. Temporomandibular joint disorder. You seem to have it severe. Basically you grind your teeth at night, meaning you clench your jaw really tight while asleep. Some reasons for it could include high stress levels. The treatment for the teeth grinding is a bite plate, which is something that cushions the clenching of your teeth and puts less stress on the jaw.
Because there's no way that a physical condition could be caused by drugs or anything.
When a nerd has something wrong with him, the first thing that should come to mind shouldn't be drugs. Possibly over masturbation or some sort of side effect from a sedentary lifestyle.
Had something similar to this, sometimes hurts, most of the time its fine. My dentist said that my jaw was partially dislocated and to be reversed would require expensive surgery and that it wasn't necessary, so to this day, when I open and close my jaw I hear clicky sounds half the time. As far as I know it was caused by some guy that randomly attacked me. But visit a doctor brah.
I get that occasionally. I know it sounds weird, but I punch myself in the hinge of my jaw until it pops and feels really loose.
i think i've read a thread just like this on here before. wait... maybe it was a penis that popped?

I had that once.
But still see a doctor or dentist.
Fixed :eng101:
