Crusading conservative journalist and activist Andrew Breitbart died suddenly early Thursday morning in Los Angeles at the age of 43.“We have lost a husband, a father, a son, a brother, a dear friend, a patriot and a happy warrior,” Larry Solov wrote on Big Journalism, one of Breitbart’s websites. Breitbart was walking near his house in the Brentwood neighborhood shortly after midnight when he collapsed, his father-in-law, Orson Bean, said, according to the Associated Press. Fox host Sean Hannity said Thursday morning that Breitbart had heart problems about a year ago. At the top of the Drudge Report, Matt Drudge, who worked with Breitbart, posted a personal message: “In the first decade of the DRUDGEREPORT Andrew Breitbart was a constant source of energy, passion and commitment. We shared a love of headlines, a love of the news, an excitement about what’s happening. I don’t think there was a single day during that time when we did not flash each other or laugh with each other, or challenge each other. I still see him in my mind’s eye in Venice Beach, the sunny day I met him. He was in his mid 20’s. It was all there. He had a wonderful, loving family and we all feel great sadness for them today.” Former Republican vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin called Breitbart a “warrior who stood on the side of what is right.” “We are all stunned and saddened by the news of Andrew Breitbart’s passing. Andrew was a warrior who stood on the side of what was right. He defended what was right. He defended the defenseless,” wrote Palin on her Facebook page. “God bless you, Andrew. Rest in peace, friend. We will continue the fight.” From the campaign trail, the Republican presidential candidates offered their condolences. “That’s shocking, obviously prayers go out to him and his family,” said Rick Santorum, who called Breitbart a “powerful force.” “What a huge loss, in my opinion for our country, and certainly for the conservative movement,” added Santorum, who was stumping in Dalton, Ga. “I’m crestfallen.” “Ann and I are deeply saddened by the passing of @AndrewBreitbart: brilliant entrepreneur, fearless conservative, loving husband and father,” tweeted fellow presidential candidate Mitt Romney. “Andrew Breitbart was the most innovative pioneer in conservative activist social media in America. He had great courage and creativity,” added Newt Gingrich.
http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0312/73493.html I don't wanna say I'm glad he's dead, but he sure was a dick...

Oh yeah, him. I'm glad you're dead.
I have never wished upon someone's death but I have read obituaries with great enthusiasm
Only time I heard of him until today, pretty sums him up for you if you have no idea who he is. Sorry it's a goddamn Amazing Atheist video, but it's sums him up fairly well
So sad. Shame he died.

You know regardless of how conservative he was, you don't mock a dead man like this. I hope some of you have more self respect than that.
I don't think he's gonna sue for slander
really? do I have to? fine egh i'll agree with mon
It's like pulling teeth, someone's gotta do it.
Pretty low mocking a dead guy, even if you disagreed with his politics.
Pretty low mocking a dead guy, even if you disagreed with his politics.
I'm not mocking him, I just feel that while Breitbart was alive, he was an asshole, regardless of the political differences between me and him. Why would that opinion change when he dies? On the other hand, anyone on this thread that mocks a man who died at this tragically young age is an asshole as well. By the way, Andrew Breitbart insulted Ted Kennedy hours after his death, right? Breitbart went `pretty low` as well
Good fucking riddance.
The lead singer of The Monkeys died today too.
The lead singer of The Monkeys died today too.
Davy Jones died on the 29th of February Andrew Breitbart died on the 1st of March
He was a massive asshole, and insulted dead people multiple times, why shouldn't he be mocked? Seriously why do you guys care about him so much? You aren't doing this shit any other time some asshole dies.
it's called ~common decency~
I'm not mocking him, I just feel that while Breitbart was alive, he was an asshole, regardless of the political differences between me and him. But saying that you're glad he's dead is going way over the line.
it's sad that he's dead. it's also sad that before he died he had to wreck people's lives in order to gain power and money.
Too bad "common decency" goes out the window on facepunch literally every other time someone that was an asshole in real life dies.
don't act like it's a good thing
Wasn't he that asshole who edited videos of Shirley Sherrod, ACORN and such to get them in trouble? What an asshole. I'm not glad he's dead. But I'm not sad either. I don't really care. Now, the Monkees guy? I'm sad he's dead. But I don't respect Breitbart at all. I'm not celebrating, but I'm not exactly mourning, either. I am, however, glad that he won't mess up people's lives anymore.
He was a massive asshole, and insulted dead people multiple times, why shouldn't he be mocked? Seriously why do you guys care about him so much? You aren't doing this shit any other time some asshole dies.
If this guy was as old as someone like Pat Robertson who had lived a long life, then I would probably been mocking him along with you. It's the fact he was only 43 years old that makes it different. That's horriblly young for someone whose a father of four young kids. They don't deserve shit! Try and think it through a little before you being a fucking dick.
He was a douche bag that ruined the lives of multiple people in order to gain wealth, and you're telling me you feel sorry for him? Seriously?
i'm not going to argue with you about morals and ethics, because it's obvious you don't agree with them. but for most people (including me) it's just part of being a decent human being. yeah, you could lie, cheat, spit on people and get revenge, but it never looks good. somebody should have said the same thing to breitbart before he went.
Ruining the lives of multiple people for personal gain and insults others regularly = not a dick Insulting someone that spent their life hurting others for personal gain = dick Nice logic there.
so now because we think you're a dick we no longer think Breitbart is a dick?
Nice logic there.

Should we build a gold statue for Saddam Hussein in Washington DC and create a national holiday for him just because he died?
which is obviously what mon was suggesting...
You don't fucking get it, at all. Not every human life is sacred and needs to be mourned at death. Am I going to feel sad when the last member of the Beatles dies? Yes, because they made amazing music and were great people. Do I feel sad because some douchebag that ruined the lives of people for personal wealth died? Hell no because he was an asshole and doesn't deserved to be mourned. Should we build a gold statue for Saddam Hussein in Washington DC and create a national holiday for him just because he died?
i don't think you understand how people work
which is obviously what mon was suggesting...
Its called making a point. Though the scale is a bit off.
