Can't wait to spend another $60 for a first-person mode and denser, less easily maneuverable traffic.

Whilst a bit brutal, I kind of agree, I don't understand why most of my friends are super excited to buy this again. The first person mode is being over hyped something awful.
It's great that players who haven't gone through the GTA v campaign yet, but why has there been such a hyperbole around it?
The PC version I can definitely understand, the modability and the nice 60fps is going to be cool but even then its not something in just itching to get.

I would say it's because GTA V barely fit on the last generation, performance was nearly a constant sub-30 fps and the game was impressive technically but squeezed to the absolute limit of what the last generation could do. Now that it has room to breathe it truly shines and is sort of "the way it's meant to be played".
Giant Bomb noticed this when they did their quick look. It's not GTA V: Remastered or GTA V: Ultimate Edition. It's just GTA V, kind of saying subtly that this is the game at the best of it's abilities and no longer hindered by hardware.
Personally, I'll be waiting for the PC version to come out and probably pick it up around 30-40 bucks.

I agree here, I think I'll enjoy the game a lot more on PC if I rebuy since the sub-30fps was just not enjoyable for me to play, so it's a definite buy for me
But will there be a walrus?

Some of us held off the last gen for a reason. So we wouldn't have to pay again to enjoy the game. Buying GTA V on last gen is akin to pre-ordering really, buying before you know you are getting the best.
People are acting like it's a re release.
It's a new release because the game was never on PS4 and Xbone to begin with. I don't see why people are complaining.
Devs usually make no effort when they port to old gen/next gen or PC, Rockstar however made a fuck ton of effort and people are still bitching
They also provided exclusive content for those who bought the game again
I'm not bitching about rockstars efforts at all its a great re-release I'm just talking about the media's hype surrounding it as if its a brand new game.

In many ways it is.
So was GTA4's
It was? I might have nostalgia goggles on and I know it was terrible for months, if not years (and still is for some) on the PC but when I was playing it on 360 I didn't notice major performance decreases like I did with V on the PS3. I could very well be wrong though.

Yeah, I was hoping they were going to flesh out the singleplayer a bit. In the least case add the online features.
So was GTA4's
gta 4 never dipped in to the teens
releases for ps4 and xbone
meanwhile the PC crowd gets treated like a bunch of lepers
gta 4 never dipped in to the teens
It made up for that on PC

As far as I am concerned, it was never truly released and this is the real version of what R* wanted to make. They took advantage of the generational gap to make a cash grab on the old consoles before releasing their real 'vision' of the game on next gen hardware. Why else do you think they waited on a PC release? Because they knew they had a next gen release around the corner, and that the PC would've had to be remastered with the next gen programming, and that would not have made them any money.

Gta 4 was horrendous on the 360 from what I remember. It was "playable", but explosions could cause major lag.
I have to say I'm justifying buying it again because I feel like there was more to the experience that I am missing out on. GTA is a game that I can put down and come back to months or years later, I want to come back to the full experience. With FPS mode and denser traffic, shit loads of new songs and other additional content, it makes it worth the price for me. Plus I can trade in my old copy to reduce the price of it.
The last gen to current gen trade-in deals being offered havent been mentioned much from what Ive seen. I had ti go look up if they were offerring any myself. For COD Ghosts and Destiny it was being crammed down my throat in advertisements everywhere.
For me in a lot of ways playing in first person makes it feel very fresh and new. The car chases are intense because you're limited to what your character can see. Same with gunfights. Plus, being closer to the ground gives you a fresh perspective on the efforts they've made to improve the textures. I don't know if actual grass was textured on the old gen, can't remember. But I remember the first time I went to Michaels horse as Franklin, I spotted to admire the grass, enhanced flora and overall better look. I then went on an hour long adventure through San Andreas just to see how things looked and I was spey impressed.

I'm pre-ordering it on PC. Mods and the factory stock first person mode sell it for me. And then there's the new songs added, the new content, being able to play it on my preferred platform, having it on Steam so I can't lose it like I've done my PS-3 copy..mmmm.
Can't wait to spend another $60 for a first-person mode and denser, less easily maneuverable traffic.
It's not just 'first person mode', they're redesigining the entire fucking game to make it feel like it was always first person. It's a totally different game. Also, traffic density is a thing you can turn down.
So was GTA4's
For the wrong reasons. Because GTA IV on PS3/360 was unoptimized to all fuck.
gameplay from ps4/bone shows that it isn't really a redesign at all, they prettied up the animations and made some neat effects for the interiors of cars and whatnot, but its very obvious that the game was meant to be in 3rd person
they changed up how movement and gunplay works so that it controls like a regular fps, too, which is neat
