I was wondering if these parts were OK, or if a) There are better parts/motherboards/coolers out there, or b) I'm utterly screwing this up.

Extra fan for the front, and a new cooler for the CPU to replace the crappy stock.
If I was you , then i would see if i could get a 650 watt PSU and the 5850 graphics card
[editline]1st December 2010[/editline]
also, i would get the phenom 955 and MSI 790X-G45 AM3 AMD 790X ATX AMD Motherboard
i would have provided links but i dont know any european websites
also get the ripjaws ddr3 ram thats pretty good to
What advantages does the 5850 have over the 460?
nothing, they are both similar in performance - just get whatever's cheaper
however, I heard that if you're planning to go multi-GPU later, 460s scale better but I'm not sure
Get the GTX 460, cheaper, for the most part, and scales better. Less power consumption.
quick question: What is scaling?
how well the the cards perform in multi-GPU setups - for example, if you get 100% scaling, then your performance will be doubled from a single-GPU.

£600, enough left to get a monitor
if you're going to overclock, add http://www.scan.co.uk/products/coolermaster-hyper-212-plus-4-heat-pipes-lga775-1156-1366-am2-am2plus-am3
if not the stock will be fine
