• Internet Speed Drops In The Night

It's been bugging me recently. My ISP (Virgin) says I get up to 10 Mb of download speed but obviously I don't and the max i get is around 1.5 Mb. I'm happy with that but that's not the problem. During the day I get around 1.5Mb download speed and 400Kb upload. Even at the peak times. However, at night (about 7pm onwards) I get 300Kb max download and 300Kb upload. This really bugs me as I download stuff throughout the day and night but when I try to at night, 300Kb get's me nowhere. Is there anything I can do about this since we pay for the service and we expect the same speed throughout day and night. Sorry if i'm sounding a bit bitchy but it's hella annoying and I just find it stupid.
Call the support service about the problem. They might give a better reason and solution than facepunch. ;)
Your lucky with them. I have Virgin media and get 1Mb down and 65.5Kb up.
It's because that's when people are home from work and school and more people are using the internet. There's nothing you can do. You could call Virgin and ask if you could be put on a less populated node. But they will probably say no.
Virgin is seeming to turn out worse than I thought. They recently upgraded my TV to a HD box and more channels and they said they'd upgrade the internet. They said they have upgraded me to 10Mb but I still get the exact same speed as I did before.
