[quote]Three family members were electrocuted at their home early Friday, apparently after an electrical transformer exploded and a power line fell during high winds, authorities said.
Coroner's officials were summoned to the home on Acacia Avenue in the Northpark section of the San Bernardino, said Cindy Bachman, a spokeswoman for the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department.
She did not immediately have details, but city police Sgt. John Diaz told the Riverside Press-Enterprise that the three were electrocuted.
Fire crews were sent to the home at about 5:45 a.m. and were told that there had been an electrical explosion and power lines had fallen.
Three of the five family members living at the home were dead, authorities said. Their names were not immediately released.
They may have been shocked by a downed power line after investigating the transformer explosion, Diaz said.
"They heard the explosion, and they went out to look," fire Battalion Chief Paul Drasil said. "There was a small fire in the front yard and a small fire in the backyard."
The explosion initially knocked out power to 2,700 customers, the Press-Enterprise reported.
A snapped power line fell into the pool of a home two doors away.
"It made a big old explosion, and it ruptured one of the water lines," resident Janet Vilchis said. "Water was coming from underneath the house."
The National Weather Service had posted advisories for winds of 20 mph to 30 mph, with gusts to 50 mph.

Apparently the dad went to investigate, then he got shocked. And the others tried helping him and got shocked as well too.

If you're feeling tingly, get out of the pool.
Watt a tragedy.

It's a technical term. Without several years of pyrotechnics experience it would be pointless me trying to explain it here.
Guess you can say that the lights turned off. :smug:
Haha

Natural selection at work.
I can understand the first two getting electrocuted but you would think the third guy would have figured it out after seeing the first two get fried.

ohm you!
i amp really laughing at it
It strikes me that every electric company on the planet educates people NOT to approach downed power lines.

But it was leaking water, right?

There was a water main that broke
When the power line came down the dad yelled to his wife and kid "Let's grab that valuable copper wire while we can!"
