US Government Declares 22 Clinton Emails as "Top Secret"
The Obama administration confirmed for the first time Friday that Hillary Clinton's unsecured home server contained some of the U.S. government's most closely guarded secrets, censoring 22 emails with material demanding one of the highest levels of classification. The revelation comes just three days before the Iowa presidential nominating caucuses in which Clinton is a candidate.
The State Department will release its next batch of emails from Clinton's time as secretary of state later Friday.
But The Associated Press has learned seven email chains are being withheld in full because they contain information deemed to be "top secret." The 37 pages include messages recently described by a key intelligence official as concerning so-called "special access programs" — a highly restricted subset of classified material that could point to confidential sources or clandestine programs like drone strikes or government eavesdropping.
Department officials wouldn't describe the substance of the emails, or say if Clinton sent any herself. They also wouldn't disclose if any of the documents reflected information that was classified at the time of transmission, but indicated that the agency's Diplomatic Security and Intelligence and Research bureaus have begun looking into that question.
"The documents are being upgraded at the request of the intelligence community because they contain a category of top secret information," State Department spokesman John Kirby told the AP, describing the decision to withhold documents in full as "not unusual." That means they won't be published online with the rest of the documents, even with blacked-out boxes.
Clinton, the front-runner for the Democratic presidential nomination, has insisted she never sent or received information on her personal email account that was classified at the time. No emails released so far were stamped "CLASSIFIED" or "TOP SECRET," but reviewers previously had designated more than 1,000 messages at lower classification levels for public release. Friday's will be the first at the top secret level.
This is why Bill Clinton only ever sent two emails while in office. One was a test email, the other was an email to the ISS.
Email is not secure, period. It was never designed to be used to transmit sensitive information or protect itself from compromise.
Let me guess, she's gonna get out with a slap on the wrist?

Not exactly... 1. She lied to the Democrats (and Democratic Voters), 2. TOP SECRET IS NSA, CIA, FBI Level Combined... 3. She is running a Presidential Run and she gave Ammo to the GOP.

Email can be used as a medium FOR secure communication, though.
I don't give a shit about the fact that she didn't take the danger of this seriously
but the fact that she pretends to be an idiot grandma when pressed about it is just gross.

even if it is true that was she was idiot who didn't know what she was doing that should still tell people to not vote for her because she wouldn't know what to do in office.

The worst part? People will willingly ignore this, and still defend her to their graves over this.

I was skeptical of the Fox News shouting about possible classified information knowing that something labeled Unclassified could easily be reevaluated to Confidential, but TS? No fucking way was ANY email retroactively changed from Unclassified to TS. She knew exactly what she was doing.
rip Hillary 2016
This better kill her campaign. I've been saying this for ages, she's not trustable PLUS her Husband was already in office for two terms when they were married which should automatically disqualify her in the first place.
If this was a republican doing this, he would have been crucified by the media a long time ago. It seems like people are trying to gloss over it

But it wasn't so we'll never know past pointless conjecture.

Like David Pertraeus who was fucking a subordinate and leaking classified information through her while he was acting director of the CIA? He got 2 years probation for that. All while Republicans and media defended him as the God-General who """""won""""" in Iraq. Now Republicans are angry that Ashton Carter is considering demoting him for the incident.

Petraeus did get crucified by the media. He only escaped prison through a plea deal in court.
With Clinton not only is all the left-wing media on her side, but so far there's no indication that she'll face charges.
Clinton has proved herself time and time again to not be trustworthy, not sure why people support her.

Because it's "time for a woman President" now that you guys elected a black one.
I'm all for a woman President. Just not this woman.

You mean a republican without a super-pac, as practically both sides of the American political spectrum are effectively corrupt to the point that this election has basically boiled down to "anyone but Trump", which ironically makes his "independent" angle seem even more attractive, in this scenario.
It's depressing, but he seems like the closest we'll ever get to a 'Teddy' in office.

Also, Obama called Petraeus to his office for resignation the day after he was informed about it.
Let's also not pretend that what Petraeus did is equivalent to what Hillary has done. Petraeus showed a few documents to his lover, privately, to impress her. Hillary sent thousands of unsecure emails from a home server that included top secret information. What Petraeus did was wrong, but it didn't hurt anyone. What Hillary did potentially leaked US secrets to every enemy the US has.

It's hilarious, but Obama has practically been meme'd into the tyrant everyone's lampooned him as being, due to his approval ratings reaching an all-time low, and all of the cracks made of him.
His last State of the Union Address was practically ranting, if you paid close attention to his body language. The phrase "Thanks Obama" is probably more than grating to him, at this point.

You can send encrypted emails, there are protocols for that.

The Republicans have cried wolf so many times that most people assume any scandal facing a Democrat is a fake invention or is completely overblown.

Yeah you expose that lamestream leftist media with your unfalsifiable hypothetical.
The media has reported everything about Clintons emails and is complicit in continuing the circus that is Benghazigate. Stop whining.

*Right-wing media
CNN, MSNBC, and the other big left-leaning news channels haven't seemed too interested in going after Clinton over this. Benghazi is bullshit, this is an actual security violation of the sort that all the major media outlets were going after Petraeus for. By comparison this is getting swept under the rug.
I really, really hate to align myself with the likes of Fox News but they and other overtly right-wing organizations are the only ones that keep calling attention to what's looking more and more like genuinely criminal actions. Unlike Benghazi, there's legitimacy to the accusations here.

Simply searching for "cnn clinton emails" or "msnbc clinton emails" brings up pages of headlines and stories. Maybe day time television isn't doing their job but I don't watch TV so.
Pretty much everyone in the submarine force hates Hillary. We regularly deal with secret/top secret information and the process is always highly regulated and extremely secure. Being a politician in a position of power, she probably got briefings every single goddamn day on the proper treatment of confidential information. They drilled it into her head as hard as they could, you will not talk about any of this or write any of it down ever or it'll be a national security crisis. At least once a week, undoubtedly.
Hell, we just had a brief from an admiral at our base theater that was deemed to have secret information, so every single person in attendance had to have a secret clearance security badge and watchstanders were posted up everywhere. He barely mentioned anything secret, but that's the kind of treatment even a few sentences from an entire brief produces.
Hillary emailed that shit knowing damn well she should have been doing that. But she didn't give a fuck. Because she knew she was untouchable, and whereas a submariner who does that gets prosecuted as an agent of espionage or terrorist, the mighty Hillary Clinton will get a slap on the wrist as most. If I emailed top secret bullshit to someone over an unsecured connection, I'd be at Leavenworth in no time flat making big rocks into little rocks. Meanwhile, this chick gets to run for president. Fucking ridiculous.
I wonder if she gets indicted if it will cost the Democrats the Presidential and Senatorial elections, this has to be a pretty big distraction for the party.
You can send encrypted emails, there are protocols for that.
Encrypted =/= secure as far as top secret information goes.
Top secret information is not allowed to be online. Ever. It only exists on closed off networks and is only sent from one designated computer with connection to that network to another computer on that network. When it needs to be transported physically, it's done in locked the fuck up briefcases with an individual practically handcuffed to it, containing a clearly marked CD or document. It can also be transmitted via phone, but on specific phones designated for top secret information through a satellite that handles nothing but top secret shit. It's an absurdly complicated process to transfer TS information.
No amount of email encryption is deemed secure by the government. They do not take that chance. It's an old school system not built with speed or efficiency in mind, but it works pretty damn well. I can guarantee you every bit of top secret information online is there because some careless individual leaked it there. It will never touch the graces of the internet if proper procedure is followed.
Guys get sent to mast, sometimes jail, for walking off the boat with their notepads full of little illegible tidbits and scribbles useful to nobody but are technically considered TS. The government does not fuck around in the slightest with that stuff.
If it comes down to Clinton vs Trump I'll vote for Trump. At least he isn't in the pocket of every major corporation, just his own.
This needs to guillotine her campaign. If not formally, as in with it being investigated by the government itself and openly publicized in the process, then we need to make as much of a stink of things with this as we can. This woman does not need to even be so much as a contender for president anymore, that much is certain with this information coming to light.
