WE G39C Review Ordering I ordered the WE G39C the night Evike announced that you could pre-order the new WE G39C for only $200 ($220 if you order one now). As soon as they said $200 I hopped on their site and ordered it, along with a few other things I needed. As soon as they had them in stock, they shipped it out that day. It took only 3 days to arrive at my house, same with the other parts that were delivered a week earlier. Evike has really stepped up their game on shipping times. I also put in an order for 3 extra mags ($40 each) on Monday, which have been shipped and will arrive Friday, just in time for the weekend. First Impressions The WE G39C has some of the best externals I've ever seen and felt on an airsoft G36. The plastic is a nice matte color, not shiny at all. It has a good texture to it that feels just right, a bit rougher than that found on the CA G36. When I first picked up this gun I was surprised at the weight. It's fairly light, perhaps a little lighter than the AEG versions out there. The other thing I noticed was how solid this gun felt. No wobble in the stock or handguard at all. Externals As said before, the externals are simply great. WE has also put their own trades on the side of the gun. I'm not sure if the number is unique or not, I'll find out when I check with my friends who bought the WE G39C as well. The handguard comes with 3 rails, which I'll state have some sharp edges to them. I'd recommend a vertical grip and some rail covers, or to remove the rails if you don't need them, as it feels a little odd to grip them. The handguard also comes with a forward sling mount, with mounts on both the left and right sides. The folding stock is very nice compared to those found on some AEGs. It clicks solidly into place when folded or extended and does not wobble at all. You won't have to worry about the stock folding by itself, as the release button takes quite a bit of force to unlock. The stock itself doesn't creak like those found on cheaper AEGs. It also serves as a place to store the body pins during takedown. The only complaint I have with the stock is the rubber butt pad. The bottom of the rubber pad features 2 sharp corners that feel like they're cutting into your chest. Grant it, this isn't a problem if you wear a vest, but it would have been nice if they had rounded this part down. Functions The fire selector switches between Safe, Semi, and Auto. It takes a good amount of force to turn the switch, so you don't have to worry about it turning by itself. The selector too features some rather sharp edges that I felt could have been rounded some more. I'm sure I'll wear it down with use though. The charging handle is completely ambidextrous. By pulling the handle to the left or right you can pull the bolt back. This also gives you access to the hop-up dial, which can be found by looking through the slot where the charging handle slides. It's pretty hard to get your finger in there, so a small screw driver may help. The dial itself is pretty easy to turn. The bolt lock is another great feature of this gun. It's located inside the trigger guard just above the trigger. Unfortunately it takes a fair amount of force on this button to release the bolt, so just pulling back on the charging handle may prove to be an easier route. Magazine The magazine holds 30rds and comes with it's own loader. It's pretty hard to use the loader as it takes a lot of force to ram the bbs into the mag. The external shell of the mag is a translucent plastic, while the internals are metal, giving it some weight. There's no fake bullets inside, though I could really care less. The mag holds enough gas to make it through one full mag of bbs. I'll be doing some more tests to see how many it can shoot. It doesn't seem like all of the WE G39C mags are good out of the box though. I lucked out and mine works fine. One of my friends has reported that his mag was leaky out of the box, while another said his would fire about 10 shots then run out of gas. Luckily one of them was able to fix the mag by adding some silicon spray. Internals Seeing as I'm not too familiar with this gun yet I won't go into it til later. Compatibility The WE G39C seemed like it was made with aftermarket external parts in mind. Both my CA G36K Handguard and carry handle scope fit onto the WE G39C, and actually felt sturdier than they did on the CA. Unfortunately it doesn't work in reverse in the case of the handguard. The WE G39C handguard will slide onto my CA G36, but the hole for the pin is just a little too far forward to work. CA G36K on top, WE G39C on bottom Performance I've only fired two mags from the WE G39C so far, so I don't have much info on accuracy, range and FPS yet. But most of you are wondering how it feels to shoot this gun. Well I'll say that it's a blast to shoot. The kick is quick and crisp, and it doesn't require a long trigger pull to fire. Due to the guns light weight, the recoil is even more felt and harder to control. It's not nearly as much as the WE M14, but it's up there. On full auto it does take some effort to keep it steady. It's great to shoot and is fairly loud too. Doesn't make nearly as much noise and clack that the WE M14 does though. Still, it's good enough. Conclusion For $200, this is a steal. The WE G39C is a great gun out of the box and is affordable enough for those players who want to make the switch from AEG's to GBBRs. The only real issue I see with this gun is the quality of the mags. Having mags leak out of the box isn't a good sign. Hopefully my extra mags will be fine, but we'll see about that.
G39? E: Holy shit its only $200, I better grab me one of these.
In comparison to the SCAR, which do you think is better, performance wise?
G39?
WE calls it a G39 to get around trademark/copyright issues with H&K, who got real picky about with retailers about a year ago. It's the same reason why ASGI calls MP5's MOD5's and G36's MK36's, and so on.
In comparison to the SCAR, which do you think is better, performance wise?
SCAR has had some issues and revisions, and generally required some work. WE said they're going to redesign all their older models around the open bolt system, so expect improvements to the SCAR when the open bolt version is released. The G39C is their newest model and they've had time and experience to learn what does work and what hasn't worked. I would expect the G39C to perform better, but I can't say without a side by side comparison.
I didn't realize that this G39 you were talking about was GBBR.

I think I might pick this up as my first GBBR.
Just finished getting the flash hider off, a lot easier than I expected it to be. Here's the final product. Here's a quick guide on removing the outer barrel and flash hider. Remove the handguard. Twist the barrel nut counter clockwise with a screwdriver or any other tool. There is some loctite on this part, but not nearly as much as on the flash hider. Lift the barrel nut up. Remove the outer barrel Watch out for the piston, it does slide out. Keep an eye out for that small spring. At this point I placed the barrel in a clamp. Using a large screwdriver placed between the prongs of the flash hider I was able to torque it off. The threads are -14mm, so be sure to turn clockwise. After that you can toss on any flash hider, barrel extention, or other accessory you want.
Looks a lot better. Nice job.
Feels a lot better to hold than the C variant too.
The K looks sexy have an artistic.
Alright I caved and bought one. Damn you Ender! :argh: I just got paid too :v:
Here's some results I just gathered. FPS Using .20g = 400fps +-8fps Using .25g = 350fps +- 8fps Didn't get around to testing the .30g bbs. I also removed the K flash hider to see if it was having any effect on the FPS. Having it on or off does not affect the FPS in anyway. Accuracy At 15 yards w/ .25g bbs I was probably getting a 10 inch grouping. Not that great, the WE M14 was easily beating this, but it also has a longer barrel and was using .30g bbs too. I noticed the hop-up was insanely sensitive. It shot fine when it was off, but if I turned it about 10 degrees my bbs would start arcing up and hitting the fence about 1-3 feet above my target depending on how much hop-up there was. So a new longer inner barrel will probably be coming in near future, along with heavier bbs and probably a NPAS, seeing as a longer, tighter barrel will most likely increase the FPS. Ugh, i want one of these bad. My first airsoft gun was some piece of shit Double Eagle G36 that i grabbed at a gun show just to shoot at my friend who got a 552. They were fun and all, but horrible. So i invested in a CA G3. But i have always loved the G36. Maybe i will grab one of these on my next pay check.
Mine should be here Wednesday or Thursday, I'm excited :)
Hey Ender my man, care if I share this review with some friends?
Just send them the link :v:
After only loading my mags with 30 rounds today, I can now look at the mag capacity of this thing, and say "I'm OK with that." The small mags were my main problem with GBBs. I still hate how it's fucking $40 for extra mags though. I am seriously considering getting this now.
Dammit, I own a TM G36c already
I am incredibly jealous of you, because I love G36C's
Hey Ender my man, care if I share this review with some friends?
Go ahead, spread it around. I already have the same review and videos up on two other sites. The more views the better.
Do you think that Battleaxe M4 magwell will work with this gun? It'd be annoying to purchase magazines all over again for a different weapon, especially since the mags are so expensive. I think that's the one thing prohibiting me from buying a GBBR - low mag cap, mag cooldown, and overall higher maintenance I can deal with, but the more expensive mags kinda kill it for me.
I do know for a fact that AEG G36 mags actually fit into the gun, but of course they won't feed or shoot, no gas or proper feed lip. The battleaxe magwell may fit, but AEG mags won't work at all. The only mags that have the slightest possibility of working are WE PDW Open bolt M4 mags, and even then I highly doubt it will work.
They would work if they were a classic gun :v:
Just bought this from airsoftgi, can't wait.
