Metro police said the shooting happened at about 8 p.m. just off Edmondson Pike at the Arbors of Brentwood. Lt. Randy Alexander said the delivery man, who works at Jet's Pizza in Nipper's Corner, had just finished making a delivery when a group of men approached and robbed him, taking his wallet and cell phone. Police said when the robbers left, the delivery man returned to his car and got his gun. He told police he followed the robbers to get a description of their car. He said one of the robbers turned around and pointed a gun at him. "Gunshots were exchanged between the victim and the suspects, and one suspect has been struck," Alexander said. Police identified the suspected robber who was killed as Deron Hulin, of Antioch. Officers found a pistol beneath his body. Investigators said they think the shooting was justified and that the delivery man opened fire in self-defense. "The victim does have a valid handgun carry permit," Alexander said. "When the investigation is completed, it will be taken and presented to the district attorney's office, and it will be up to the district attorney to (decide) if they want to present it to the grand jury." Police questioned the delivery driver late into the night. Alexander said the driver was doing well despite the traumatic nature of the incident. Police did not release his name. Officers searched for two suspects who ran away from the scene, but the effort was unsuccessful. Officers arrested 21-year-old Christopher Moore Saturday. Police said he admitted to driving the three robbers to the Arbors of Brentwood with the plan to rob someone. He also told police that he drove the three robbers to the Hickory Woods Apartments where they robbed two people about an hour before the shooting. Police said the person who placed the pizza order was not involved in the attack. Investigators do not believe that the would-be robbers live at the apartment complex. "We have no reason to believe that any of the residents here are in danger whatsoever," Alexander said.
Can't think of any puns. :saddowns:
I'll take the kebab, extra bloody.
He deserves a hell of a tip
He got served? Anyway I'd never follow some robbers knowing they might also have a gun and risk my own life.

Robber paid with gun threats, got his change back in lead
Robber paid with gun threats, got his change back in led
What's he going to do with a load of light emitting diodes?
What's he going to do with a load of light emitting diodes?
Whoops :v:
Investigators do not believe that the would-be robbers live at the apartment complex.
Do journalists have no standards anymore? How are these people would-be robbers? They robbed him, went to their car, he came back, and they tried to shoot him?
What's he going to do with a load of light emitting diodes?
Made my whole day this morning
"Thank you come again". Robbing people has always been a dangerous hobby, this is pretty much an occupational hazard.
Unnecessary to put yourself in danger again. But hey he got one of the mother fuckers.
Swift Justice was served.
Swift Justice was served.
Justice served in under 30 minutes, or your money back? That's a legal system motto I could get behind.
Justice is a deep-dish best served cold.
"Would you like your justice served with extra pepperoni?"
Justice is a deep-dish best served cold.
True story, left-over justice is delicious.
Only problem is if robbers think pizza delivery guys are armed, they will just shoot them first THEN rob them. Look at what happens to armored car guards when they get robbed- shot first then the thieves take the money. I used to deliver pizzas, your best protection is two things: Learn your delivery area, learn where the sketchy areas are. The fastest way to get robbed is to treat every area as if it's as safe as the next, it isn't. Next, get in and out fast(I know, that's what she said). Consider yourself at risk from the moment you drive up on that street. So you want to park, get to the door and make the exchange, and be back in your car as fast as humanly possible. Legitimate customers who live in dangerous areas will know what you're up against and will expect this, so they won't be mad you're in a rush.

Why would you rob a pizza man?
Why would you rob a pizza man?
Easy target.
Easy target.
Not so easy that night. :)
yea I used to as well, and the most cash I ever had (on average) was maybe $100. it isn't worth it, go rob a convenience store or a walmart or something... not a delivery guy
You expect a certain standard of rationality. There are people getting killed for their shoes or gas station employees shot for $50, I don't find it surprising that even pizza men become a target.
Easy target.
Unless they shoot you in the face.
Easy target.
Tell that to this guy :v:
This would make a fucking awesome TV series, a pizza delivery guy/loose-cannon vigilante. "He's delivering a deep-dish serving... of JUSTICE."
Reminds me of my father's co-worker that was robbed, he was a veteran so he wasn't all there, and one night somebody went up to him, pulled out a gun, and asked for his money, co worker beat him with a pistol bad enough it got him sent to an emergency room and all was well.
