Ok, so long story short, i REALLY want Black ops, but i have to wait 1 more year until i'm old enough to get a work permit, so i have no way to earn money.
I have 12 games for my ps3, so i thought i could trade a few in, i heard that Game-Stop's trade in value is very low, but a friend told me a while back that there's some kind of thing were if you trade in a certain amount of games you get tons more money. Here are the games that i have -

The only games that i definatley will NOT trade in are, Modern Warfare 2, and Battlefield Bad Company 2
Any ideas on how i could get Black Ops by trading in some of these?
Get a parent or older friend to do it.
trade in mw2 you'll get like 20$ off, idk if they do it where you live though.
You'll probably just break even.

What do you mean exactly? Get them to buy the game for me? Asked, no one will, my friends letting me borrow it in a few days but i just can't wait. I'm old enough to trade in games, just wondering if anyone has any experience with it, and if a certain amount of these would get me Black ops.

lol, i mean, i don't really play mw2 much, sept private matches with friends from school, but I like to keep all games from the cod seriese, i have cod 1 and 2 for pc. Plus in the future I'll be able to compare it with MW3, lolz
That should definitely be enough if you trade all but MW2 and BC2. I traded 3 Xbox games, 2 of which are a couple years old, and a few PS2 games and got around 89 bucks.

Although I used my PowerUp Rewards card so I got an added 30% plus some of the games had a special thing that gave even more so I dunno.

Oh, I apologize, I must have mis-read your post.
You can most likely get enough money for black ops with all them games, if you can't american game-stop is worse than I thought, where I live you could get it for about 3 or 4 games, obviously depending on how old they are.
If you can't get it with farcry 2, uncharted 2 and unreal, that place is a rip-off.

hmm, i might consider it then, i have a ton of ps2 games from the old days. What i'm wondering is if i trade in a certain amount of ps3 games would i get more money? What i mean is, if i trade in 5 games, will i just get the money that they offer for each, or would i get extra money because i'm giving them 5 games?
long story shot
Wow man.
Brutal.

I understand not selling bad company 2, but if you are getting black ops, why keep mw2?
If you're not old enough to get a work permit, are you old enough to even buy it?
I used to work at Gamestop and I think I know what your friend is talking about. Sometimes Gamestop has deals where they give 40% extra credit to towards the games that you trade in. Which can add up to be a lot of money. The only problem is that it doesn't run all the time. And those 12 games probably wont give you much money with out the 40%. Without it you will only be able to probably get Black Ops

That encourages, and discourages me at the same time. So they hold it randomly or on certain days?

nope, you have to be 18, i'm 14. My dad will be with me so they'll let me, just like with most of my other games.

Seriously. You can sell all of those for $150 at least.
Gamestop sucks with trade ins. Last year a friend of mine bought a brand new 360, didn't like it, took it back to the store after 1 week of play, and they offered him $30 for it.
Gamestop usually is bad with trade-ins. Store credit thing gets you further, but if you're looking for cash trade-ins it's a few dollars lower. The fucked up part? They'll usually turn right around and sell it for 10-15 dollars lower than what the game had cost for a used copy. So if you paid 60 dollars for a game, expect to see one used copy of that game someone returned for about 45-50 bucks. (Whereas be lucky if they offer you more than 25 dollars. Or almost 30 with store credit)
