So. They delay it by nearly a year, then it's 30FPS (for a racing game...) and now the promised free psn version is delayed even further while owners of the paid version can't even play online? Good job.

for the same reasons fighting games and twitch shooters need to run in 60fps
There are very few racing games that have speeds high enough for that to be an actual requirement. Seriously. I've played tons of 30fps racing games, and in those it's never been a problem.
for the same reasons fighting games and twitch shooters need to run in 60fps
Unless you're street racing, its never been a twitch genre. Not everything gets a benefit from 60 frames, Jesus Fucking Christ. Its always been pre-planning and moving through curves as best as you can. 30 frames is fine for that.
Many racing games are fine in 30fps.
Plenty of games are just fine at 30fps, the problem is its just "fine" and people need to get past that and want something more. I agree with what you are saying though, racing games certainly dont need high FPS like id argue some games need. Still, I have never been convinced yet that higher framerates are nothing but better.

The standard is lower than it should be for no real reason. I sometimes wonder out of all the people developing games if more of them don't play games at all than those who do
Still, I have never been convinced yet that higher framerates are nothing but better.
Higher framerate is always better if it can be afforded. Drive Club puts all its cards in high graphical fidelity though, so you don't get much headroom for a stable 60fps on top of that.
Stable framerate over higher For most games, honestly.
What does racing game have to do with frame rate?
120fps is much better for a racing game, although we'd only get that on PC.
for the same reasons fighting games and twitch shooters need to run in 60fps
Huh, didn't realize racing games needed incredibly accurate and frame perfect inputs.
IMO 30fps makes anything feel pretty dated at this point.
