This weekend someone broke the drivers side door's window and stole my 200$ GPS that I just bought and my bookbag and I've been trying to look up why my vehicle doesn't have a car alarm on it when someone breaks into the vehicle. Because it seems like every other car that was made in the 21st century has one. Hell my neighbors 2004 car has an alarm that goes off just even from a simple vibration. So can anyone explain to me why my car is not equipped with an alarm system?
protip: don't leave valuables in your car.
because its a SUV not a luxury car/ mom suv?
the only valuables in my car is my headunit
and some fast food coupons
What city did this happen in by the way?
I've got a 2000 Ex and it only goes off if it "detects" tampering with a combination of the doors and ignition. Definitely won't be triggered by a broken window. How about you keep valuables out of sight next time?
Yeah, Ford's alarm system in 2000 only goes off if the ignition or door locks have been compromised.
Source of this knowledge: I once tried to.... uh.... "disable" the ignition on a 2000 Mustang and hotwire it. Long story.

I would rob your car for some fast food coupons.
