So I live in the UK so bear in mind insurance is included in that price, and probably vastly more expensive over here than anywhere else. On a 2 litre turbo engine I get quoted around £1000 for a years worth of insurance, just to give you an idea. I want something that is fun > comfort. If you're gona link examples I'd prefer something in black and nothing over 60k mileage.
Further details:
It's my money, not daddy's.
It will be my 3rd car, I've been driving for 5 years.
-snip, wrong forum-
For 24k USD you can get pretty much a brand fucking new car unless you for like a super luxury car like a audi or what ever....
Or a slightly used Audi.
You could get a Subaru BR-Z for $23,000 - $25,500. Then again, that's in the US so I couldn't say for sure.
A Subaru Impreza WRX starting price is ~ $26,000. Those are loads of fun and very comfortable. Once again, that is the starting price in the US. I don't know how it is over there. All last weekend I was out with a friend canyon mobbin (in the Impreza WRX) and what not .
Get yourself this beauty.

230hp's of fun.
-how even-
That money will get you a very nice Audi or VW.
If me being 18 only costs 8000 to insure that Golf i think anything older would be nice and easy to insure that.
I mean, i currently have a £1200 1.4 Polo and pay £3000 for insurance.
First car? Them somre cheap and easy to fix banger.
3rd car :)

Yeah pretty much this. You shouldn't rely on your parents even though they gave you a pretty big spending limit. You're still spending daddy's money.
Get a small car with a decent engine, something you can fix up yourself if something goes wrong. IE an old Volkswagen or Nissan would be pretty good choices considering their small engines are one of the best in the industry

It's my money. I don't live with my parents.

..according to his profile...
I quite like Audi A5's but I guess that would be comfort > fun. They do look the business though.

Another fun car would be a RX-7 FC or FD. They both are turbocharged. There are countless of things you can do to them.
Right now, I have a 1999 Range Rover (P38a) 4.6 HSE. I plan on having some fun with it, then I'm going to trade it in and getting a small car. I basically have the same amount of money to spend as you do.
If I had that money the first things I'd consider would be a Nissan 300zx Z32 or a Toyota MR2 (not the latest gen). I'd also consider a Ford Falcon XR6 but I don't believe the UK has those.
I know you can get decent models of two of the above for less than $10,000AU, it's not like you have to spend all of that money.

Wait, what is the imports market like in the UK? Can you even get those two cars? haha
I've heard that importing japs in UK is quite popular
makes sense really, they even have the steering wheel on the wrong side already

Cool?
To each their own. Imo, it would be wise to buy an old starter car then slowly fix it up with the rest. That way you know the parts you've repaired are good and you've got some left over for savings. Blowing it all on some brand new car will be much for insurance/repairs/no money left. I'm sure you have something you'll need that money for if not soon

He said it's his 3rd car. Maybe he doesn't want to put money into it. Maybe he did in his other too.
I do agree though. I would love to make the Rover into an off-road god, but that would take loads of time and money since the P38a is not so common as an off-roader. I would love to get an old muscle/pony-car or tuner and pour money into it.

Shibans just upset that his mum and dad don't like doriftu.
Man if I had $15,000 to buy a car with I would probably buy a 2003/2004 Cobra Terminator (can be difficult to find at 15,000, but they're out there). Crazy amounts of power and it's a V8.

There's a difference between 15.000 pounds and 15.000 dollars... :v:
Wow I thought that was a dollar sign. My bad. I guess that is what happens when I read threads so early in the morning.
