They have been working on this while also working on the base game. They literally just took it out of the game and sold it for $5 lmao
it's about time
Who needs effort when you can just take stuff that could've just been in the release game and whore it out for some extra cash?
Bring back the days of Expansion Packs with actual tangible content.
Why back in 2008, DLCs would have been released 3 to 6 months after the game's initial release. Why release this in less than a month after the game is launch!
Its not DLC, its cut content.

The thing that ended my faith in developers with regards to DLC was the Crysis 2 leak. It had an incomplete game but all the day one DLC was fully finished and ready to go.
First thing I gotta ask Ubisoft, where is the patch to fix some of the physics errors and stuttering during high speed? That was promised and now you spent your time just working on a DLC....
Developer whores.
So the game just got out a week ago and they release a dlc already? That's why I never buy a game on release of it's going to have dlcs and buy it (if it's worth it) whrn they release a full edition with all.
That costs WAY too much for a digital trip. I expected $0.99, maybe $1.99, but this is insane.

I have no idea what day-one dlc you speak of for Crysis 2; I don't think you remember correctly. There was only day one DLC tied to pre ordered special editions and then after that , 2 post launch multiplayer dlc map packs.
On August 17, 2010 EA announced that there would be two special editions of the game.[23]
The Limited Edition of Crysis 2 is available at the same price as the regular game, but in limited quantities. It comes with bonus experience points to "immediately boost the player up to Rank 5, giving access to all the preset class loadouts",[24] a digital camo weapon skin for the SCAR, the "Hologram Decoy" attachment for the SCAR, and unique in-game platinum dog tags. The Indian Version, on pre-order, also includes the Threat Tracer Suit Module (Early Access), and, on buying from the EA store, a gold dog tag and desert camo for SCAR.[25]
The Nano Edition of Crysis 2, which was only available through pre-order, includes the Limited Edition copy of the game in a Steelbook case, an 11" statue of Alcatraz posed on top of a New York City taxi, an art book, and a Nanosuit backpack "modeled after the in-game super suit." The Nanosuit backpack is large enough to accommodate a 17" laptop.[26] As of September 26, 2010, the Nano Edition was made available for pre-order on the EA website for a $149.95 price tag but was sold out before March 2011. After the game's launch, those who preordered the Nano Edition had their shipment delayed. EA gave the affected customers a 75% off coupon and later a free digital copy of Crysis 2 Limited Edition as compensation.
In May 2012, Crysis 2: Maximum Edition was released for the PC. It included the core game and previously released DLC including 9 additional multiplayer maps and new game modes for them, 2 new weapons (FY71 Assault Rifle and M18 Smoke Grenades), the Scar weapon skin, a Scar hologram decoy to attach to the player's weapon, platinum dog tags, and access to bonus XP through custom and preset classes. Also included is the high resolution texture pack
You really think it was so horrible of Crytek to complete such a small pre-order dlc pack before the game was released? Some skins and unlocks?
I just think it's strange to say you've lost faith in DLCs based on a small pre-order DLC pack consisting of some skins and multiplayer unlock being finished in a leaked internal dev build of the game that was basically complete except for the obvious bugs and missing assets.

Sorry about derail; but yeah. It does suck that they released this DLC so fast.. I want expansion packs in the scale of the battlefield 1942 expansion packs, or 2142 northern strike.
