That sounds bad.
Tweets have also revealed the involvement of chief composer Sam Hulick, and the voice actors behind Joker (Seth Green) and Kaiden (Raphael Sbarge). Whatever BioWare has up its sleeve, it has a larger writing staff and returning cast than previous pieces of DLC. That could indicate a grand finale, or setting the stage for whatever is coming next to the series.
hiring previous voice actors from the game to reprise their role for new dialogue for a DLC isnt supposed to be huge news, its supposed to be a god damned standard. it doesn't mean a "grand finale", it just means they wrote new dialogue for it.
Joker and Kaiden buddy cop spin-off series. calling it.
more like all hands on DICK hahah get it? cause gay jokes. haha [sp]Sorry it was too good to pass up.[/sp]
If it has Casey Hudson anywhere near it then it will be utter shit.
Yeah, fuck that guy that gave you all of ME1-ME2, and all of it's DLCs. :v:
The large number of dumbs just because it's Mass Effect 3 in every thread is hilarious.
Joker and Kaiden buddy cop spin-off series. calling it.
but that would actually be cool one's a pretty nice guy, the other's Seth Green what could go wrong
zeah mac walters should stick to character writing onlz to be honest. His hand in Meě was alreadz quite visible with the plot erosion. The problem is, that in meě characters could pull it bz themselves, in Meš thez had to move the global plot forward, which he just didn§t seem to handle verz well.
He's a large part of the reason why ME2 and ME3 progressed towards more of a big dumb space shooter rather than an intricate and deep space opera sci fi story. Drew Karpyshyn's original idea for the origins of the reapers is purely science-fiction[3], but maybe a bit too difficult for the call of duty crowd to understand (Which, I remind you, is the audience Bioware have been targeting since Dragon Age 2)[4]
If you're implying they dumbed down the story for a larger crowd, they made a really shitty job in my opinion.
Most disappointing series... First is one of my all time favorites. Second was kickin' rad. Third... We don't talk about the third. All this shitty SP DLC is just a kick in the balls at this point.
If you're implying they dumbed down the story for a larger crowd, they made a really shitty job in my opinion.
That's because at the same time they were trying to bring in the CoD Crowd, they were still trying to keep the longtime players who have been around since ME1/ME2 (Read: A majority of their fanbase) interested in the game. In the end, they messily ended up landing in the middle and appealed to neither demographic.
I hope hamburger helper is part of the writing team
Welcome to Mass Effect 3! Remember, you'll buy DLC forever...
I'm happy that the Mass Effect series came to an end. I started the series after realizing that my computer couldn't run Crysis for shit and I just exchanged it for some game called Mass Effect at Best Buy when I was a wee freshman. Now I actually 'grew up' and saw the series come and go. You don't get that often.
Mac Walters predominantly wrote Mass Effect 3 (Which had a train wreck of a story.) Drew Karpyshyn wrote ME1, co-wrote ME2 with Mac Walters (who wrote most of the character dialogue, which was superb) Mac Walters doesn't seem to be that suited to overall plots, he's more focused on characters and interesting dialogue. Casey Hudson and Mac Walters are solely responsible for ME3's ending, according to a dev who posted anonymously on Penny Arcade (which would explain why it was such a sudden change in tone and quality)[1] So no, i'm not saying he's solely responsible, but you'd think the PROJECT LEAD AND LEAD WRITER[2] On ME3 would be a pretty big part of how good the game is. He's a large part of the reason why ME2 and ME3 progressed towards more of a big dumb space shooter rather than an intricate and deep space opera sci fi story. Drew Karpyshyn's original idea for the origins of the reapers is purely science-fiction[3], but maybe a bit too difficult for the call of duty crowd to understand (Which, I remind you, is the audience Bioware have been targeting since Dragon Age 2)[4] [1]Writer at Bioware talking about how Casey and Mac had executive decision on the ending - http://www.gameranx.com/updates/id/5695/article/mass-effect-3-writer-allegedly-slams-controversial-ending/[2] [3]Drew Karpyshyn on his original ending: - http://www.strategyinformer.com/news/17086/mass-effect-writer-drew-karpyshyn-reveals-original-mass-effect-3-endings [2]"Executive producer" on ME3 - http://www.caseyhudson.com/ [4]http://www.nowgamer.com/news/919569/bioware_we_want_call_of_dutys_audience.html [editline]5th December 2012[/editline] I'm not just blindly blaming Casey Hudson, he actually had a rather large role in how Mass Effect 3 turned out.
Well, in fairness, Casey Hudson had a large role in how the entire trilogy turned out. Hudson is pretty much the sole reason that Mass Effect even exists, so it's only fair that he gets credit for the good bits as well as the bad. Also, I might be in the minority on this, but I think Drew Karpyshyn's original idea for the ending wasn't any better than the one we got. A cool idea, maybe, but it also has the problem of not fitting the major themes of the trilogy.
I think it's because the team wasn't balanced. ME1 had a great story and universe, but it's gameplay wasn't great. ME3 had great gameplay but lame story elements. ME2 was balanced just right. Good story and dialogue writing and fun gameplay. Problem is, Karphysyn left and upset the balance. If they want to improve, they need to be balanced again.
