As much as I don't like Lost Worlds. I think this is pretty cool. Hopefully one day there will be an adventure themed game with both Mario and Sonic working together.
This is Yoshi's Story themed.
This is Yoshi's Story themed.
Seems to be both honestly. Using textures inspired by Yoshi's story while theme song and items (such as the bouncing arrow ball and smiling flower) from yoshi's island
I liked how the whole level was from Yoshi's Story (as everyone has said already).
It looks so slow.
It's rather weird for Lost Worlds. You have to hold down one of the shoulder buttons to let Sonic go at full speed. Lost Worlds is more about the platforming and having to go around the weird level designs more than getting to the finish in the fastest time possible.

Sonic Team were able to really outdo themselves with the amount of branching paths in this game, instead of just throwing you into a linear rollercoaster like Unleashed or even Colors.

I thought the designs of quite a few of the levels were pretty good and all the ways you can traverse them. But it isn't my cup of tea, I like the Colours and Generations type of games.
I don't understand why Nintendo has been doing so much cross-licencing with Sega. Aren't the two companies competitors? If so, they must be worried about the market outside of Japan for long term competitors to join up like this so often.
Yeah, but you can't really expect anything to stay the same for 20 years, can you?
Nah, but Sega to be still says gaming powerhouse. Their actions on the other hand, don't.
Seems to be both honestly. When it comes to Yoshi's island, the levels are designed more like a Pastel painting, while with Yoshi Story, everything takes the form of Cardboard, like a pop up book. Notice how in the trailer for the DLC, the level shown has the appearance as if it was sewn together, like yarn. The only kind of game development Sega has done since then was Console games/Arcade games/PC games. A lot of Sonic games have been on Nintendo consoles since then and Nintendo and Sega partnered up because Sonic games tended to have the best sales on Nintendo platforms.
There is suppose to be a Zelda themed stage coming as well.
Considering that Sonic and Mario go to the Olympics an awful lot, I'm not all that surprised by this. Still a little surprised, but not massively.
It looks pretty much like Sonic Galaxy imo, not surprised for this.
I miss the days where Mario and Sonic were utter rivals.
I miss the days where Mario and Sonic were utter rivals.
Now they're more like friendly rivals. With Sonic getting his heroine addiction paid for by Mario. I don't really find an issue with crossover stuff, since this is literally free and added onto the game like the Nights levels was, but although they fixed the 100 rings issue, something about making the DLC altogether doesn't sit well with me. Like the effort spent making it could've gone to making the game a bit less flawed overall. But then it's sure as hell isn't the 3DS version, I guess.
Sega needs to kill sonic. They can start over with a totally new franchise under a different company with the exact same game mechanic, but the name "sonic" has been so whored out people see "new sonic game" and (rightfully) immediately assume it's going to be shit

nobody assumes Sonic games are going to suck when the come out. Now they wish they could have use of more than JUST sonic :v:
I don't understand... nobody does what anymore?
Automatically assume that new Sonic games are shit. Case in point: Look at this shit, It's the best one in 11 years

They weren't as great as generations, but they were a step in the right direction. Also, Rooftop Run for life.
Sonic Lost World doesn't really suck, even though people still adamantly refuse to believe anything that isn't the Sonic Cycle (start with Unleashed or Colors to try seeing how far the series has come if you really do think all 3D Sonic games suck, or at least play Generations dammit). It's got issues, it's got flaws, yeah. The level design later in the game varies wildly, with the first act of each zone generally being pretty good before gimmicks start bleeding into bloody everything. The difficulty spikes all over the place, although now you get lives for every 100 rings, so that should fix some balance issues. The parkour and platforming physics are finicky, and the parkour itself is criminally underutilized unless you go for Red Rings as well as obnoxiously unexplained. You can control all but the Rhythm Wisp with the normal Gamepad controls now, but even with that fix they're just shoehorned in and either available for skipping parkour segments, being mandatory to progress two or three times, or just.. There. But it's still an enjoyable game, if not a very obvious 'throw everything at the dart board and see what sticks' sort of transition title like Unleashed was. Most of my issues really stem from things the Colors devs keep doing, like stages entirely built around gimmicks and trying to make Wisps a series-standard thing for no real reason.
I miss playing Sonic Adventure 2 on the gamecube one of the best games :(
I miss playing Sonic Adventure 2 on the gamecube one of the best games :(
I tried playing it again once. I never realized how much I despised the treasure hunting stages until then. Though at least I wasn't falling through the geometry all the time like in Sonic Adventure DX.
