• Microphone through speakers?
    10 replies, posted
I can't seem to fix this so I just uplug my mic but when i want to play online and talk, MY MIC HAS TO BE IN AND THEN I CAN HEAR MY SELF! It really sucks, apparently if you have a creative sound card like me you can't fix it in the windows sound options, so for someone who has the creative control panel, please help me fix this. I can't find any options for a microphone in the CCP
Help?
You should just be able to mute it through normal sound control, regardless of what soundcard/onboard you have: XP, but you can do the same in Vista/7. If you can't find it, you aren't looking hard enough.
I have the menu but Microphone isn't on it, I told you in the OP, windows 7 plus creative sound cards make it so you can't mute mic in it.
Anyone?
use the drivers packaged with your creative sound card, they'll be one, like the Realtek Audio manager, but for creative.

In the microphone properties there should be a listen tab.
Go to the settings for your speakers, select the "levels" tab, find your microphone, and mute it. Now people can hear you, but you can't hear yourself.
