• How to shrink an animated .gif file size to be an MSN Display Picture
    4 replies, posted
A lot of the .gifs I try uploading as an MSN DP pic always says "Invalid file type" etc. from this website (http://awesomegifs.com/) when I know that they are valid. Anyways, some .gifs due manage to be valid but are to big (In file size). How do you reduce the file sizes for animated .gifs? [editline]06:18PM[/editline] Thanks
To reduce the filesize you'd have to remove some frames from the .gif itself.
Degrade quality on all frames. Remove some frames. Do not include XMP data.
Import them in photoshop, save for web, optimize, export.
GIMP resize image, index with web palette, optimize, save. [editline]10:25PM[/editline] Essentially what the above guy said, but without a $700 program.
