We'd been thinking they'd get a bump after the Paris attacks but nope
France's far-right National Front (FN) failed to win a single region in elections on Sunday despite record results in the first round, early estimates showed, as voters flocked to traditional parties to keep it out of power.
The leader of the anti-immigration FN, Marine Le Pen, lost out to the centre-right alliance in her northern region after the ruling Socialists pulled out of the race ahead of the second round.

France's far-right Front National (FN) has been beaten into third place in the second round of regional elections, exit polls indicate.
Early results suggest the party failed to win a single region, despite leading in six of 13 regions in the first round of votes a week ago.
The polls suggest Nicolas Sarkozy's centre-right Republican party is in the lead, ahead of the ruling Socialists.
FN leader Marine Le Pen and her niece were both candidates.
Early projections suggest both have failed to be elected, even though they had both looked to have won more than 40% of the vote in the first round.
This is probably good
Good, we can't have parties like that threatening to further destabilize relationships between countries in the European Union, let alone ones willing to drive a wedge between migrants and locals.
In times like these, the EU should stick together, and reform what its member are unsatisfied with, and not give into panic.
I am ashamed for the actions of my government.
Thank Christ.

Might sound offtopic, but how are things in Poland at the moment, government wise?

Obviously I'm not biasless, but it's shit.

This article wraps it up, although there's a lot more to it. If you'd like insider perspectives, I'm sure the blokes in the Polish Chat Thread wouldn't mind any questions.
Liberté, égalité, fraternité
I feel really dumb saying this but, I don't really understand France's system.
Marine got about 40% and Marion around 45%.
Does this mean that 40% of the French people (In these regions?) aren't getting democratic representation?
And they won the first round, when there were more parties in the game.
But now the runner-up wins instead, does that mean the socialists voted for the republicans?
Can someone explain?

The wedge is already being driven in between migrants and locals by the current politicians unfortunately.
I'm not sure what to think of FN though.
Sucked in fascists
