I was prepared to come in and make an angry post but then I read the actual title.
I thought Rockstar North was based in Scotland

It is, it's right outside John Lewis in edinburgh and right next to the big cinema complex

Is there like a videogame news section on BBC? So many articles (that I've seen) recently about games in general from there.
I wonder if this relates to the amount of emerging indie developers.
And then you have countries like Iceland with CCP, where gaming actually helps the economy a substantial amount.
Ireland's got Zynga
:(
Most gaming companies on Scotland are shutting down. Realtime world was the big one, but after the disaster that was APB they went bust and sacked all their workers without pay.

(I know a few of them IRL... I'm not making that up)
Scotland's game industry is struggling, eh? How popular are video games in Scotland anyway?
In regards to creativity, maybe most of the Scottish-born industry members migrated to England or Canada due to high taxes? I've heard that stuff happens quite a bit.
Also, are there many Scottish devs in Guildford? (there's quite a few developers in Guildford from what i've heard)

I would imagine as popular as any first world country and probably more so if you looked at percentages instead of sheer numbers.
