• Samsung Galaxy Note 7 replacements recalled
Samsung is working with the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) to investigate the recently reported cases involving the Galaxy Note7. While the investigation is taking place, Samsung is asking all carrier and retail partners here and around the globe to stop sales and exchanges of the Galaxy Note7. Since the affected devices can overheat and pose a safety risk, we are asking consumers with an original Galaxy Note7 or a replacement Galaxy Note7 to power it down and contact the carrier or retail outlet where you purchased your Galaxy Note7. If you bought your Galaxy Note7 from Samsung.com or have questions, you should contact us at 1-844-365-6197 and we can help you. Galaxy Note7 Owners need to do one of the following: Exchange your current Galaxy Note7 for a Galaxy S7 or Galaxy S7 edge and replacement of any Galaxy Note7 specific accessories with a refund of the price difference between devices; or Contact your point of purchase to obtain a full refund. Customers who exchange a Note7 device will also receive a $25 gift card, in-store credit, in-store accessory credit or bill credit from select carrier retail outlets.
http://www.samsung.com/us/note7recall/ Worldwide recall, seems to only be on the US site right now but Australia and Europe should be soon to follow, sucks because I love my note but oh well, pixels look really good
Samsung just can't catch a break right now. Damn.
welp guess i am getting a iphone 7 plus since theres nothing else on the market. dont want to get a v20 because LG makes it and they are bootloop central, and Pixel cost too much for not much (only thing going for it is "Best camera in a phone") need to escape my LG G3 (bootloops, overheating alot which cause the metal buttons on the back to heat up and be hard to hold, bluetooth fuckery, etc.)
THIS is why they shouldn't have removed the removable battery.
THIS is why they shouldn't have removed the removable battery.
Even after they replaced the batteries the first time they still exploded. So it could be something else about the phone causing it
I like the Note for the stylus. I find it very useful to take notes with, and the screen is nice and bright so it's visible in high sun light situations. Do any other phones even compare in those areas?
Honestly, the note 7 is a great phone; It's a shame that this whole exploding problem had to happen. I've been using an S7 edge as a replacement and was too lazy to get the new note 7 when it became available—dodged a bullet there. Anyway, switching to a phone without a stylus made me realize how nice it is to have one.
except that has almost nothing to do with the issue

“Based on our investigation, we learned that there was an issue with the battery cell,” Samsung explained. “An overheating of the battery cell occurred when the anode-to-cathode came into contact which is a very rare manufacturing process error.”
And considering the "fixed" replacements are still exploding, it's safe to assume they don't actually know what's at fault.
need to escape my LG G3 (bootloops, overheating alot which cause the metal buttons on the back to heat up and be hard to hold, bluetooth fuckery, etc.)
change the rom, using fulmics 6 here and it's working great not gonna change phone unless it breaks or something industry changing hits the market
yes there's an issue with the battery making it user replaceable would not fix it.
Replace defective removable battery with new, non-defective one? Problem solved???

It makes it way cheaper to get a new phone that way. this means i have a v20 or a iPhone 7 to choose from. the big question is really "should i give LG another chance" t-mobile doesnt work at my house. hotspot doesnt do shit when hurricane matthew turns off your power and internet. I am never touching verizon.
I don't understand, the iPhone 7 plus is more expensive than a pixel?
The Pixel and xl is the same price as a iphone 7 and plus
And considering the "fixed" replacements are still exploding, it's safe to assume they don't actually know what's at fault.
The fault is they squeezed a 3500mAh battery into the same space that used to hold a 3000mAh one without carrying out the proper safety checks in order to get it released before the iPhone 7.
except that has almost nothing to do with the issue
It's not that the non-removable battery is causing the overheating, but they could have just sent out replacement batteries to customers or stores instead of needing to recall and replace every single phone

If the note 7 users have a chance to get a device replacement, s7e is a good choice
Whelp no more Samsung phones for me. Already have TERRIBLE battery life alone just having the screen on idle.
Apparently Samsung are calling it quits permanently on the Note 7. Samsung permanently stops Galaxy Note 7 production - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-37618618
good choice i love mine try to get an upgrade program thing going on. dunno about the carrier you have but apple upgrade program is pretty dang good
have t-mobile currently but due to how bad it works at home family is switching to att. so basically i have to choose a new phone. att has a "att next" service. seems legit https://www.att.com/shop/wireless/next.html would prefer the apple plan tho as its unlocked. really wish the note 7 would of worked out. i love drawing on my phone when i had one of the earlier notes.
The iPhone upgrade plan also includes apple care, which is absolutely worth it. It pays for itself in the event that you break your screen or phone
I'm sad to see the Note 7 go. It's a great phone minus the fires. Not sure what phone I'll get now. Maybe I'll try an iPhone again, haven't tried one since the 3GS. The Pixel looks underwhelming to me.

If anyone wants to give me their "defective" Galaxy Note 7 I would gladly take one. (die in a ball of fire a week later)
[t]http://i.imgur.com/mNbb1fM.png[/t] my telco has recalled my phone

Plus, I like the large screen. I don't want to have to go back to a Note 5 or S7.
