HALP!
I'm in Japan and my university blocks access to a lot of stuff.
To get Netflix working out of the US, I rented a SOCKS Proxy server using Your Freedom. It works just fine. However, I had to use an application called ProxyCap to set which applications would be tunneled through the proxy.
Now, I want to use my laptop with the proxy as a bridge for my PS3 to connect to. It already works with the default internet from campus, the Web Browser works, I just cannot access PSN.
How do I set up my PS3 to use the Proxy? Is it done on the PS3? Or is that done on my laptop with ProxyCap?
Any help would rock!
Your university may be blocking access to PSN by use of a port block. My university does the same thing here in the US. 2 people in my dorm have Xbox 360s and are configured to use the proxy, but Xbox Live doesn't work even though they can still connect to the internet.
If that's the case, there's nothing you can do. Contact your university's IT department and ask them. They might be able to help.
That's the case, which is why this SOCKS Proxy exists. They block Steam and gaming through port blocking, but with this I can access Steam.
I've also tried using a program to turn on OpenVPN, but still not quite working.

They may be detecting and intercepting the traffic somehow...I've just got one of these accounts myself and am now trying it to see if it works on my network.
