Havent used a Lenovo, but I've heard great things about them.
Good for Lenovo.
Their thinkpads are nigh on indestructible.
What laptop did I grab for college, a Lenovo. Good picking me.
I'd take a Thinkpad over any HP product any day of the week.
It's one of the few chinese products that are actually GOOD.
Black is back.
Now if only Lenovo made 17" thinkpads with decent gfx chip in them.
Lenovo laptops are not to be doubted, especially ThinkPads.
We need thinkpads with better GPU's.
(Or better GPU/CPU balance)
Using a lenovo ideapad right now, their ultrabooks are incredible for university or travel
Still have my thinkCentre as a very old desktop. Completely outdated in terms of hardware specs (AMD Sempron 3000+ and ATI Radeon X1200 series) but it still works, thanks to its quality.
Good to hear. Got the Y580 a week ago and it is an absolute beast for the price. BF3 and Crysis play pretty much on max settings with it.
ASUS master race.
ASUS master race.
I have an ASUS and I like it but I don't like the fact that they don't seem to update the drivers. Especially the drivers for their custom graphic cards.
I also don't like how you can't control the fan speeds of the CPU with software like they have for desktops.
I was mostly surprised at how my IdeaPad came with a 32gb msata ssd and a hdd, and I just love how accessible the parts are.
HP needs to drop the PC making division, forgot its name, But now its been losing them money.
They should just go back to being a service company

You realise HP makes inordinate quantities of money from selling office computers, server and laptops right? That fact that you don't like them doesn't make it a bad business strategy.
I have never heard of Lenovo before.
It's a company who bought IBM's desktop and Laptop division when IBM decided to spin it off. People are still scratching their heads over that move but it didn't hurt IBM at all.
HP on the other hand loses money no matter what they do because they thought it was a good idea to spin off their test equipment division and assify their printers.
Actually, he's right. I think ASUS laptops have some of the lowest failure rates or something, and I think it was even better than Apple
while they have lower failure rates, my ASUS has a lot more flex and overall quality issues compared to a Lenovo
how 2 save HP:
fire everyone except for the enterprise/business people
take their good business stuff and change the outer shell of the product to look more 'consumer friendly'
look at this shit: an all in one that is fully upgradable, you can even put a 2 slot pci-e gpu in it

(the lcd screen is on the other side of the lid)
But the consumer style chassis HP uses are absolutely revolting, like they don't have a single good looking consumer grade computer.
Its all creaky and glossy cheap plastic with the durability of a wet paper bag.
He said change the looks of it, not the materials or internal & structural design.

But that costs.....MONEY!
I love my HP laptop, but I'm looking into a desktop. Maybe I'll look into a Lenovo, especially if they're cheaper like the article says.
ASUS master race.
They have thinkpads on the ISS.
Top that.

If it's a desktop, building it is the best option.
In HP-speak this means make it very shiny and have it implode after a year.
I didn't know a 1mm layer of paint could do that?
What crack have you been smokin?

I've had the worst luck imaginable with building desktops. After college, I'm planning on building a really powerful one, but for during, I really only need one to render video on.
Why are Thinkpads so expensive?
Actually, he's right. I think ASUS laptops have some of the lowest failure rates or something, and I think it was even better than Apple
idk the asus i've had for a few years now has a battery that's completely annihilated and i had to get the graphics chip replaced because the thing clogged with dust so badly that it'd start stuttering playing an n64 emulator. and there was no way to clean it out without violating the warranty.
i'm not pleased with it, lol
Actually, he's right. I think ASUS laptops have some of the lowest failure rates or something, and I think it was even better than Apple
This is the study you're probably thinking of

Asus was indeed the best for failure rates
I kinda hate HP, since most of their laptops are garbage. However, my dad got me a probook, and it's the best laptop I've ever used. It's not saying much though, I've only had 6 laptops :v:
As for lenovo, good on 'em. I've never used one before, but I have seen how sturdy they are.
