Hey guys, I'm kinda new to FP as far as posting on it goes but I saw this and thought I would share some pics and details on my ever day driver/dream car. My 1969 Chevrolet short bed pick up. Currently it has a 383 stroker with 205 double hump Dart heads, 470 lift Tri-Power Xtreme hydraulic roller cam, KB performance pistons claimer series Hypereutectic pistons....etc, I'll get some pics of the motor next time I think about it but here are some pics of the truck, I've done everything myself, from paint to cam bearings, I mean everything ;D, with some help from my pops. Still needs work, money ran out before I could fully finish her. She needs a new bed and windows and some minor dash board stuff but here she is. I know someone who will love you quite a bit. He may be mighty.
Satin was a good choice. Pretty sharp.
I thought so too =D.
Sexy
Mad jealous.
sexy.
Looks great man!
Thanks! Alot of time, blood, sweat, and money whent into building it. So its nice to hear people like it =D.
Too often restorations end with superglossy paintjobs. Not saying they look bad (though some do, obviously), but it's nice to see someone who can appreciate a different, less common look. IMO, Satin black looks so much better than gloss black on most vehicles. Certain colors (red, yellow) should stay glossy, though.
I would completely agree.
I don't entirely agree with gloss being a bad thing. A mirror black old rod looks super sexy... but it takes a ridiculous amount of skill to be able to do the body work properly for a black car. I has to be more than perfect or else you can see every little imperfection. Plus then the painted must be very skilled to lay it out good.. and it still requires a cut and buff to finish it off properly. I'm still a sucker for bright shiny things too though.. :P http://ih3.redbubble.net/image.3323784.9678/flat,550x550,075,f.jpg Do you have any before/after pics or build pics or anything? Those are half the fun!
If you have 15 grand to drop into a paint job then fuck yeah but when you only have $500 then I feel I did a pretty good job, Also I had no body and car painting experience, So I give myself an A or at least a B =D. But yes the paint on the car in your pic is very beautiful. I do have a lot of "Work in progress pics" but I don't want to upload them ATM, maybe over the next few days I will.
my jelly-o-meter broke, considering i have a 72 GMC shortbed.

Even satin can be a little difficult to lay out well without a little prior experience, so yea, still big props heh. Lookin forward to progress pics someday too, if you're ever up to it. Lord knows when I get off of work pleasing some fools on a forum is the least of my worries!
lol, I might not have the pics anymore, Lost a hard drive not to long ago so ill have to look on my cam, If there on there ill upload em, might be a day or 2 before I get around to it.
The fuck happened to your tundra ;_;
Lol, Well I was racing a Ford Lightning down some back road, I was about 4 lengths ahead of him and I drove thru a stop sign and some guy just clipped my rear bumper, I have no clue what happen to the lightning I guess he made it thru and booked... Spun me sideways, the bed hit one of those big ass steal poles, the ones that are like 3 feet across, the bed wrapped the pole like a horse shoe, the cab ripped off, rolled 134 feet, I was thrown 60 feet out the driver side window into a tree then hit the ground 15 feet below, then I came to, caught my breath finally went and dragged Shannon out of the wreck and laid down next to her and waited for the EMT, I was really fuckin lucky, only had 3 fractured ribs a partially collapsed lung and I hyper-extended my knee, plus some cuts and what not...Shannon only received a big cut right above her knee. So in the end I spent 11 days in the hospital and that was the end of it. The cop felt so bad, cuz he knew we were dead when he pulled up to the wreck he only gave me a ticket for running the stop sign. He went to see my parent and showed them the pics and started to cry in front of my parents, kinda felt bad for the guy, I can imagine what its like pulling up to a wreck like that and see body's on the ground thinking man how am I going to tell this kids parents. The fucked up part is, if I was wearing my seat belt the hood would of decapitated me... Talk about fucked up!! Anyways so there is my epic car crash story lol. Didn't really learn anything from it, still race and now my truck doesn't even have seat belts...

Now have a '70 half-ton shortbox sitting in my grandmother's drive-way. I haven't seen him in 2 years now :C Was gonna be my first vehicle too but I ended up getting a shitty 323.

Shame too, it was a nice Tundra. http://s276.photobucket.com/albums/kk19/bigy05/?action=view&current=DSC00777.jpg
@ Penis Colada, Yes I am a moron, it was a nice truck and I loved the shit out of it =/:@ Tukimoshi, Thats tough man(about your dad) I feel for you though, my pops got hurt at work about 3 years ago and has completely altered his life, he went from a man working all his life, to a man needing help up the stairs...not something he took well plus we whent from living in a $700,000 house to a $120,000, sold everything, moved out of state, so I lost all my friends, but then again my fams and I have learned a lot of stuff that we would not have if we hadn't moved(mostly about paying closer attention to others feelings), so I can't say it was a complete lost.:@ MightyMax, Not sure what your talking about, I'm guessing you didn't see the tundra pics, if so ill post them below.
