I wanted to get some opinions on this.
So yesterday when I was leaving my cat ran out too, and he's never really been much of an outside cat. Then last night my friend saw a dead black cat in the road, then when I looked and saw the dead cat in the road, it had more of a flat face and didn't have a collar. Ours did have a collar on it though. One of my friends today said they always see black cats running around here, like wildly, so maybe it was just a wild cat in the road.
Our cat has still yet to return to the house. It's only been one day, but I'm not sure if I should assume it somehow lost it's collar when it was hit or something if that was it. But there was a collar no where to be found in the area where it was hit.
Any thoughts anyone?
I'm really upset without the cat either way, honestly. It was a family cat. I wish I had a for sure way of knowing if that was it or not.
It's dead
That actually happened to mine too. I had a black cat, about 2 months old that got out when my step-mom left for work. She did nothing about it. Next thing I know my dad came home with a garbage back saying "Otis got killed". He was hit by a car. We buried him behind our house.
Get another.
Not to seem insensitive, but to me It doesn't seem entirely unlikely that whatever vehicle hit your cat might've taken its collar with it down the road.
I'm only saying because that might explain what happened to the collar.
That or it was completley ripped to shreds by a tyre. Just my two cents.
