I just ordered a droid incredible and was wondering if the data plan really is unlimited. I've tried google and some sites are saying unlimited and others are saying it's really a 5gb cap. Is it really unlimited?
Does it really matter if it's really unlimited or not? You're not going to manage to use that much data, even if you tether it to a computer, due to the slow connection speed.
You can't tether with Verizon. There's another $15/mo for tethering access.
I was just wondering seeing as I'm going to be paying $30/month for it(mandatory).

But really, don't worry about it. 5GB per month is a lot considering it's a phone and not your main internet connection. If you're really that concerned about it, the best source for this information is to call Verizon and ask.

It's not that slow, I was surprised. Gets like 150 KB/s which is decent. Better then most hotel wi-fi connections.
I've come to about 2 Gigs of data usage over the air with my Droid so be careful and check every once in a while.
It's capped at 5/GB a month unfortunately

I heard about that. From what I heard, they'll watch for usage spikes like that and then charge you through the roof.
Watch your usage. Donload th My Verizon app from the android store. Since tht will show your billing information straight from Verizons servers. But unless you go crazy and start running pandora constantly while downloading a movie, you'll be fine. Use Wifi if you are really worried.
I never got over 1GB on my plan, don't worry about it.
I manage to tether my netbook to my blackberry with it's 20 MB data day pass and I don't run out...
Then again, I'm not used to having data everywhere.
Thanks guys you cleared all my questions :)
