• Someone's getting at my hotmail account - help
    9 replies, posted
Alright. So an hour ago, I got a message on GMail which I originally believed to be a phishing email. Turns out it's not, and i've confirmed it's a valid attempt to change my hotmail password. Luckily, this is my disposable account for things that will spam, but i'm sure they can get my main email if they somehow get into it. The thing that really worries me is that they're trying. I have two main suspects. Is there something like the IP tracking tool in GMail where I can see the IPs or even more useful, the countries of people logging in or attempting to change my password? Anyway, aside from that, what else should I do?
Change your hotmail password or delete the account and make a new one
If you manage to get the attackers IP, just do a traceroute on it and get his location.

You can't just find out his ip, there's no log or whatsoever on hotmail. One of the ways to find his ip is if he sends you an email. You should just change your security question and your password
Change password... It should be your immediate response whenever you think an account is not secure.

Hotmail keeps no logs of Ip address's... So I don't think so. Also be careful where you point your accusations. Just a tip. [editline]09:00PM[/editline] Why do you think it was him?
