WoW, Blizzard is really desperate.
It's like offering drugs to someone after they went to rehab for it.
They don't get the point. They alienated their player base to the point they will never come back.
WoW, Blizzard is really desperate.
Desperate or not. They still have 10 million people playing their game.
They're lucky there hasn't really been a big hit MMO to drain the player base they already have. I mean TOR had a lot of preorders but a lot of people have already played through and unsubbed to that.
I think this is them being greedy. They have plenty of money as it is.
I think this is them being greedy. They have plenty of money as it is.
This pretty much. I heard from somewhere that there is going to be an instant level 80 level up from inviting friends. Just pretty much ruin the entire game for the sake of money. But whatever I guess, its ACTIVISION Blizzard entertainment now, so can you expect any less?
make the game f2p 2 million subscribers back in one day.

The "resurrected" player also gets a few nifty benefits: Any one character will be boosted to level 80, the max level before Cataclysm raised the cap to 85. An automatic upgrade to Cataclysm without having to purchase the game. A free optional character transfer to the realm and faction of the player that sent the scroll of resurrection so the two can play together. An finally, seven free days of game time.
way to read the article it hardly ruins the game at all [editline]7th March 2012[/editline]
make the game f2p 2 million subscribers back in one day.
not how it works
make the game f2p 2 million subscribers back in one day.
I've seen an ad saying it is f2p up to level 20
I've seen an ad saying it is f2p up to level 20
You can get there in no time at all and the content at that level is not too exciting
You can get there in no time at all and the content at that level is not too exciting
none of the content is "exciting" until 85
way to read the article it hardly ruins the game at all [editline]7th March 2012[/editline]
Oh I see the article confirms what I said. And I guess apprantly ruining the game is a matter of opinion because removing the sense of achievement from gaining maximum level, litterally skipping hours of content is what I would consider ruining the game

Delaying the inevitable death.
Get cata for cheaper I guess. Just add water(And time)

Didn't Blizzard have like 20 million subscribers or so during Wrath of the Lich King?
I remember when Blizzard was a cool company. Now it's Activison-Blizzard. [editline]7th March 2012[/editline]
LMAOOOOO
Criticizing a game that hasn't been released yet. gg I bet you are one of the people who immediately think Blizzard ripped off Kung Fu Panda.
Criticizing a game that hasn't been released yet. gg I bet you are one of the people who immediately think Blizzard ripped off Kung Fu Panda.
Son is calling the game good before it's out but y'all know that shit is just gonna be mediocre as fuck. How bout they make themselves relevant again by not making safe as fuck sequels to their 15 year old franchises b?
My favorite levels were around mid-40's because that's when you started to actually get a feel for your character and the quests weren't as locked-down (as in, I had more choice due to excess quests and more mobility than earlier levels). What I really hated was the way they seemed to casualize the experience so everybody would rush for the highest level. I loved leveling at around 40, not the constant pressure to level up because nobody else was around the region (and is your level). I really wished I could enjoy old instances when they were still "new" like AQ, or at least have regions more populated than they usually are. I remember when Dun Morogh (the Dwarven place without snow) was populated like crazy. I miss those days. If there's anything I can't stand, it's the casualization of this game to reinforce the thought of the only fun to be had is at the later levels.
Desperate or not. They still have 10 million people playing their game.
that was like in what, 2002?
that was like in what, 2002?
<insert box image here>
<insert box image here>
you're so edgy and cool. wow fangirl
I love how you all say WoW is dying, yet it still has about 10 million subs. It sure is dying alright!
I love how you all say WoW is dying, yet it still has about 10 million subs. It sure is dying alright!
i miss your rotating sprite avatar :(
that was like in what, 2002?
Warcraft didn't even release in till 04. And those are current subscribers. This game is no where near dead. Even if Blizzard was to loose another 9 million subscribers. One million is still pretty good for an MMO, that's still 15 million dollars a month. Thats not counting all the race/faction changes, and server transfers people will buy. World of Warcraft will still be running 5-10 years down the line. A good deal of the people who quit WoW, when they dropped like 600k subscribers, where already playing Cataclysm, and likely already had a level 85 character. This obviously isn't going to be a big profit loss.
