Nobody cares.
Of course they're different. Retailers doesn't focus on PC titles anymore, they buy in 4-6 copies of games that aren't WoW or Sims and are lucky if they even sell those.
Those who care about all those different games buys them online, not to forget that Terraria is only available online.
Is Terraria that good?

Let's rather say it like this; it's well worth the money.

Fun while it lasts but it doesn't take all that long to get everything and beat the bosses but for $10, you get more than your money's worth.

I think the point is that the PC retail list is pretty much a list of games that appear to indicate retail PC games are being bought by casual/barely use the computer types. It's dominated by WoW/Blizzard, sims types games, aka users who aren't "real" gamers. I think it's somewhat interesting, indicates to me PC retail really is on it's death bed.

Which is because of what I said. People just buy it over the net because
A) There is so many sales they'll get it for cheaper at some point.
B) The selection is way way bigger.
C) You get it instantly (well, depends on your connection).
D) There is no CD key to be lost and no CD to be broken.
The remaining people that go retail is people with piss poor internet connection, those who love the feeling of having a physical example to look and hold at, and the casual gamers.
And the sales is really something to think about in the list here. Would the F.E.A.R collection be there without that recent sale? Nope.
The list consists of a title getting there because of a sale and Terraria is only available online and I think that applies to Magic the Gathering as well (but I dunno, didn't get much googling, not that I googled hard).
Steam and purchasing through Amazon has been my choice for PC Games for quite some time now, not because it's easier, but simply because it's cheaper. Retailers need to rethink their strategy.
