• D975XBX2 Blue SATA Ports

Hey, I am currently using a Intel D975XBX2, it has a total of 8 SATA ports. 4 of those SATA ports are black, these ones are Intel ones. The other 4 are blue, these ones are Marvell ports. Here is a picture of the board. My problem is I can't use the blue SATA ports. In device manager, there is an unknown device which I am assuming are the Marvell SATA ports. I've tried downloading and installing drivers directly from Intel's site, which clearly didn't work otherwise I wouldn't be making this thread. I've searched around and from what I understand these ports are intended for RAID, although here the person seems to have fixed the issue without using RAID. I am currently running 64-bit Windows 7. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks in advance!
Is the bios set correctly?
Because 4 S-ATA ports are not enough? Lolololololol But really... Why not do what that guy did?
Is the bios set correctly?
I've looked through the BIOS and I can't see any reason why they wouldn't be working.
Because 4 S-ATA ports are not enough? Lolololololol But really... Why not do what that guy did?
I tried, and unfortunately it didn't fix it. I've only tried installing them with the installer, I would try install them manually but I can't find the folder in which they would be. Also I would just use the black SATA ports. But the problem is my graphics card. If I put my graphics card in the first PCI slot it will hit my RAM. At the moment I've got it in the second one, and due to this it sits directly on top of the black SATA ports, leaving little space for me to plug the SATA cable in/
Can you use an SATA cable w\ 90 Deg. plug?? I have to use that in my case because the hard drive is so close to the side of the case.
