I don't even remember when this problem started, but its been happening more frequently I have no idea what it is. I've had it looked at, the guy couldn't find anything wrong with it physically or internally as far as he was concerned anyway.
My Specs:
AMD FX-8320 Eight-Core 3.50 ghz
GTX 760
12 GB DDR3 Ram
Windows 7 64-bit
Corsair 650w PSU
Does your motherboard happen to have some "performance" settings in the BIOS? Like energy saving, max performance or something along those lines? If so, try disabling it. Otherwise you might have bad RAM.

Okay.
Yeah, this happened to me. Run memtest at the very least, its easy as hell and only takes up a bit of time. Unfortunately for me, it ended up being both the RAM and the Video card. (Remember kids, stay grounded!)
Welcome to the joys of AMD's memory controllers, same freezing shit since Phenom II unless you stay completely within spec
What configuration is your 12GB RAM? 3x4GB?
What timings and mhz are you running your RAM at? Are you using any XMP setting?
Are you overclocking and if so via base clock or multiplier?

I have no idea what timing and XMP are. I think it might be 2x4 because each stick is 4gb. Not sure though.
