I've got a laptop which is outdated now, give or take 5-6 years old. It's now coming to breaking point, not being able to run things as basic as Youtube videos without stuttering / crashing often. I was wondering if there was any basic tips on how to potentially speed it up? I'm thinking of moving from Chrome to Firefox, only due to Firefox not creating a new task each time a new tab is opened, possibly saving a fair bit of RAM usage.
EDIT: Probably would've helped if I had mentioned that I'm upgrading in a month, there's just nothing else for me to use until then, so I'm trying to make the most out of my current one before chucking it.
If you're moving to Firefox, you can take Waterfox, a faster version of Firefox, built for x64 CPUs
