I am personally in love with the band Streetlight Manifesto and I was wondering if anyone else on fp shared this love. I also wish to share the love of Streetlight with those who have not felt their gentle touch!

Info (straight off their website).
Of all the various compliments Streetlight Manifesto have received from fans over the years, there is one in particular that seems to resonate most with the members of the band. After a show, a kid in torn jeans and a Pantera shirt, sporting ridiculous facial hair, will find one of the Streetlighters outside of the club and say hello, followed by "Man, I don't listen to this kind of music, in fact I hate most ska bands, but you guys are something else." Or it will be a jazz fan, sitting in the back of the venue during the set, bobbing his head, eyes closed while the band does their thing on stage. Or one of the club's stagehands will comment, while helping break down the lighting rig, that he actually enjoyed a band he was working for for once, despite having heard thousands of bands on the job over the years. And therein lies Streetlight Manifesto's appeal.
Seven guys, seven different musical backgrounds, seven different personalities, one band, one unique and unmistakable voice. Formed four years ago in New Jersey as an ad hoc group intended to put out one album and disappear, one thing lead to another and within a few months of their debut release, Everything Goes Numb, Streetlight Manifesto were officially a full time touring band, traveling the world, spreading their infectious and energetic tunes to all who would listen. One part rock, one part ska, with influences from latin, klezmer, folk, world, funk, jazz and classical thrown in, the band redefined what most people expected from a "ska" band. Three albums later, and after countless worldwide tours, the guys are still at it, still performing live to sold out shows filled with sweat drenched fans, all dancing and singing along at the top of their lungs. And the Streetlight boys wouldn't have it any other way.

This albums is a bunch of covers of other songs. I highly recommend it, though.
Also, i like how they incorporated all the songs in the album onto the album art.
I still can't find 'Me and Julio', though. So if you find it point it out!

They remind me of the squirrel nut zippers.
i love them. very good music.
The Hungarian Dance No. 5 part in If and When We Rise Again is super awesome cool.
Great band. I've "acquired" both their albums. I also saw them live and bought a shirt so I guess I didn't fuck them out of too much money.

Tomas Kalnoky has actually said that his music is greatly inspired by them.

Yeah... i "acquired", as you put it, Everything Goes Numb from a friend when i was first introduced to them. I quickly came to love them and bought their other two albums. They are amazing live Tomas is fucking hilarious...
I think I might have actually made a Streetlight thread a while back. Maybe it was on my alt...
Definitely one of my favorite bands of any genre. They played near me not too long ago but sadly I wasn't able to attend.
I can't wait for 99 Songs of Revolution.
Yeah, I did make a thread:

um, Keasbey Knights came out second. Kalanoky's first band, Catch 22, released it way earlier but this version was released after EGN
EDIT: i really should proofread before posting
Ah this has to be my favorite band. If not my favorite, then one of them.
Point/Counterpoint is a groovy song.
Playing their songs on trombone has actually helped me a lot with my range.
The lyrics are tight. I only listen to two ska bands . . . this and Catch 22.
My friend is really into them, I never really bothered to listen to them because my music and her music tend to not mix well.

Yeah i am currently learning We Will Fall Together's sax solo. It's definitely helped me alot with my range and interval changes...
I saw these guys at the http://www.thebamboozle.com/ 2008 last year. They were really great. :D glad to see this got posted.
Ah yes, I've been listening to them for over two years now, still adore them.
I'm diggin' this, thanks.
Okay, I am certain I've fallen in love. <3
Saw them at Bamboozle Left 08
as they were warming up the crowd cheers
and then Daphne Loves Derby gets boo'd off the stage
It was amazing :D

you made my day :)
bump for update
Massive bamp for the complete awesomeness of this band.
Catch 22 was far better. A lot more energy was put into the music.
It also sounded like total out of control garbage; also, don't confuse Catch 22 and Streetlight, they're two very, very different bands; just because Kalnonky wanted to play his songs the way they were meant to be played originally.
I'm not confusing them. Streetlight didn't start sounding like they should until Somewhere in the Between. I can't help but cringe at their remake of Keasbey Nights because it was just everything Catch wasn't. Catch had so much energy and soul in it and Streetlight stripped that away. It felt far too rushed and it was even admitted by Tomas that he didn't even want to do it.
It was a huge disappointment and forgivable to a point. It doesn't make up for Everything Goes Numb's bad sound either.
They are probably my favorite band. I love all of their albums, especially their remake of Keasbey Nights.
I just saw them live in Pittsburgh a couple of weeks ago. AWESOME show.
