I have been thinking about overclocking for a while now, but I need some info/tutorial on how to do so/advice on whether its worth it. My specs: Intel Core i7 CPU 950 currently at 3.07GHz 12GB RAM Windows 7 64bit 1TB harddrive
With an i7 you can certainly get alot more out of it. I suggest first buying a new CPU cooler and then start reading up on this forum.
Thanks.
I'm sorry but I am not familiar with the i& line of CPUs.
You replied a few hours after I made my edit. Did you see it at school, and remembered it for the whole day so you could come here and make that post in a relatively dead topic so you could get rained in funnies? Anyway, I will contact you whatnow tomorrow probably so you can give me a quick tutorial on how to overclock this thing.
Just go into your BIOS setup and you'll eventually figure it out. [editline]08:16PM[/editline] http://www.gamespot.com/features/6155292/index.html
Only overclocked it from 3.07 to 5.0, but its noticeably faster.
Keep track of temperatures...
My PC never goes a few degrees over room temp.
With those specs why would you want to overclock? Anway yeah, basicaly keep track of temps dont let em go to high and ull be good
My PC never goes a few degrees over room temp.
Ya the case temp might not, but check the CPU temp. At 5ghz that thing is probably flaming hot.
My PC never goes a few degrees over room temp.
Do you smell something burning? Unless your room temperature is at a constant 60-90 degrees you are fucked.
