Pathetic.
Apparently some overzealous suit at their German division that mistook DSFix for the recent unofficial patch that enables the debug menu in Dark Souls. There's dumb people everywhere.
Jesus fuck, isn't this all his code? These people are really something else.

Most guys working there don't know the media well enough or don't even care about videogames at all. And all the "older guys" who started working as developers in the 80s who are now working as big suits in publishing are not better, their knowledge and understanding haven't evolved since the CD hit the market. Most of them don't even understand the importance of Steam for the PC market. It wouldn't even surprise me one bit if I get an injunction suit for this post.
Good news: everything's ok guys! I just called Volker Rieck from FDS File Defense Service. They were indeed hired by Bandai Namco, but not the germany division, but the US one, to take down all the debug mode patches. Dutante's DSfix was not part of the plan! Mr. Rieck is currently writing emails to Namco and dropbox to clear everything. Durante is allowed to reupload the patch, there is nothing wrong with it. Mr. Rieck was nice and took the time to explain the situation to me. I am currently on the phone, so I might add a bit more information when I come home in a few hours. edit: also shame on the guy who send him a mail full of threats. He was a bit disturbed by that.
Show's over everybody go home :v:
Still a dick move to do in the first place.
Didn't say it wasn't! Just saying the problem was resolved
Didn't say it wasn't! Just saying the problem was resolved
at least it was a mistake before it was overblown out of propertion to initate a witch hunt by the people.
