He's made a 10 part history docu telling the other side of American history, one thats seldom told in western media. The time period is WWII until today. Although it's been made a year its just been put out to buy. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oliver_Stone%27s_Untold_History_of_the_United_Stat es You have to remember much of this is driven by opinion and a slightly left wing agenda but the facts and figures backed up with quotations from autobiographies and people who moved and shook things over the years add weight to his version of history. It's well cut with original film footage mixed with scenes from actual movies. I've just finished it and it's really made me think about what I think I knew. Heres a good deal of whats covered: WWII Nuclear weapons Surrender of Japan Bay of Pigs Korean War Vietnam war Presidents Communist witch hunts Central American CIA involvement Gulf war Modern day and much much more This 10 parter was fantastic and the main thing I hated about it was that after part 10 there was no more. Like I said before, keep in mind that Stone now rubs shoulders with Wikileaks, Michael Moore and others figures of that side of current affairs. Theres nothing wrong with that in itself as these people add to the global debate and make things to stimulate what we think we know but its good to understand what politics a film maker holds when consuming his work.
