My current PC is horribly outdated and has recently begun to freeze up on some newer games. I need something new that doesn't go over $650, and I don't need a new mouse, keyboard, speakers, or screen. I do need stuff like fans and DVD drives though.
I'd also prefer you use the american version of newegg.
Do you need an OS?
I've got that covered.
I've got that covered.
What OS is it?
Business Vista, but I might be getting 7 soon.
Business Vista, but I might be getting 7 soon.
Is it 64 bit?
32 bit
Should I just go ahead and post all the specs?
32 bit

The OS should be fine for now but you should upgrade to 64 bit sometime. Also post the specs it gives us something to base if the new computer is worth it.
Case - Vostro 400
CPU - Intel Core 2 Duo E6550 2.33
Graphics Card - 8600GT 256mb
RAM - 2GB of DDR2
PSU - 300 watts
HDD - 138GB
Not sure what my motherboard is. Oh and I payed $1000 for this when I bought it from Dell a few years ago. :downs:
Does this build work out alright and is it worth the $660?

that psu is overkill. You should get like a 500w and then you could get a 5770.
hold on
or get a smaller hdd, i have a 500gb and it's more than enough
that psu is overkill. You should get like a 500w and then you could get a 5770.

Foxton told me the exact opposite and to get a 650w
Better Hard drive.

Also, I wouldn't trust open box items.
Then Diablotek PSU? No. Get this.
Foxton told me the exact opposite and to get a 650w
nah foxton is dumb. i remember from some chart the max power the 5770 consumed was like 250 watts
The reviews looked pretty promising for the Diablotek PSU, but I'll probably trust you guys more.
nah foxton is dumb. i remember from some chart the max power the 5770 consumed was like 250 watts
More like 205 and that is full system load.
Yea, get that Cool master PSU I posted above.
As well as the WD HDD.
but get the psu clabrendon posted, cooler master is very reliable. Also, you can get this hdd
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136298
and then have enough for this
