Win7 hanging on boot, persisting issue. BadPatch error?

lets start from the beginning shall we
yesterday my new GTX670 arrived, I couldn't wait to slap that bad boy in.
As per usual, I uninstalled the old display drivers, and downloaded the new from Nvidia so i'd be ready to install
Put the new card in, and Win7 wouldn't boot.. I get up to the Starting Windows splash, right where the orb should appear and it hangs there (the orb doesn't appear yet before it hangs)
I figured it must be the card, so I unplugged and put my old card back in.. and still nothing
OK.. it has to be my SSD then right? Not exactly.. My spare hdd with Fedora installed wont boot either.. it hangs at fedora's splash screen
Now, the windows repair CD wouldn't start on my desktop either, it would hang at it's splash screen again... Couldn't boot to safe mode either
Next I tried putting my ssd in another PC in my house and boot from there.. nothing.
This time I could enter the recover wizard though. It scanned and I got the error "BadPatch"
Upon googling I found that this is a common issue, but there is no real fix. It has to do with a bad windows update installing itself, then causing the issue upon restart (which happened to be while installing my new gpu)
I tried all the suggested fixes including bootrec commands, and the likes.
Microsoft support seems to just be ignoring the issue from everyone else, and the only solution i've seen is to reformat your drive and reinstall windows fresh.
But i'm not even sure what piece of hardware is causing the problem. If it was just my ssd causing it, why won't my HDD with fedora boot in my desktop?
Could it be the sdd and motherboard?
I just have no fucking clue. Anyone else have a similar problem?
