Ok. I am desperatly trying to fix this BSOD issue in Fallout 3. I went to the Bethestha forum for help. They told me to do this following to try to reinstall the new video card driver; 1. First Download and Install Driver Sweeper from Guru3D. 2. Run the Nvidia Driver uninstaller and reboot PC. 3. Tap F8 after POST to Enter Safe Mode w/o Networking. 4. In Safe Mode, run Driver Sweeper and Clean "Nvidia Display" and "Nvidia PhysX" 5. Reboot Computer and Repeat Step 3. 6. Reinstall Your Nvidia Driver in safe mode. 7. Reboot and log on to windows in normal mode. So I got DriverCleaner. Ran it in Safe Mode (F8 doesn't work. so I had to do that thing of when Windows boots, hold down power for 5 seconds to turn off computer, then turn it back on to get Safe Mode access). Attempted to install the new drivers in safe mode, then this message comes up that the Nvidia Control Panel could not be installed, then something about the resent version that worked would be used. Then I booted normally, and was still getting that "Found video thing do you want to find drivers for it" popup. The drivers didn't get installed properly. I don't understand. What did I do wrong? I asked in my reply, but they have yet to respond, and I'm in badly need of help to fix this. So that's why I ask Facepunch. Is it the fact I only selected the computer to just run in "Safe Mode", instead of "Safe Mode, command prompt" (or something like that)?
Whats your Specs sir
Whats your Specs sir
My specs are; OS: Windows XP Home (SP3) CPU: AMD Phenom 9550 @ 2.20GHz, Quad-Core PSU: Antec GreenWatts 650W Motherboard: ASUS M3A78-CM Memory: G-SKILL two 2GB @ 4GB, DDR-2 Video: ASUS nVidia Geforce GTS 250 512MB Audio: Onboard VIA HD Audio Monitors; Primary: Arnos Instruments H-W19 19" Wide Screen Secondary: Hitachi/HINT X93W D-Sub 19" Wide Screen But it's OK now. What the problem was, they were wrong for telling me to install the drivers through safe mode. You install them through normal mode.
