I'm still a bit pissed that we didn't get our first M rated star wars game.

should i rate myself Optimistic for that
Oh man that looks so incredible. Especially the part with the Kinect.
That looks damn amazing
Didn't Valve kinda do this to an extent back in 2005 with the creation of the Source Filmmaker? Not post, but the concept of using a video game engine for films

Technically uses Mocap since it was done with a Kinect then smoothed out.
holy shit this is fantastic. How much great stuff could be made using this technology!

I've got a Kinect, maybe I should get in on this??
Surprise! It was really just a code name for an engine for film making all along.
Fucking called it.
Source engine was based on the tech Disney/pixar made with movies, why not make movies with game engines? It's perfect logic and this is the shit that makes me happy to live in this day and age.
Unreal Engine and many others would be PERFECT for making movies.
Hell, if I was a game dev, making a scene in my favorite game engine would be the most fucking bomb thing ever. Think of if this way, you could easily convert the movie into a game if they ever want to make a game for it. All the assets are there.
an LA Noire movie is one thing I'd be stoked as fuck to see. But using the real life actors in live action, which wouldn't really be using game tech.
Mistakes into miracles.
The fact that this kind of stuff can be done in realtime now is astounding.

It's still going to look a million times better if you do the cgi in post, rather than use a game engine to do something real time and call that the final product. I think the point of this is that directors and actors can get a peek of what the end scene will look like without having to rely on their imaginations when working with green screen or mocap.
Isn't the 1313 engine Unreal Engine 3

Or make web-series.
