A campus shooting at UCLA Wednesday morning left two men dead in a possible murder-suicide and sent thousands of students running for safety and barricading themselves in classrooms. The shooting, which led to a campus lockdown just after 10 a.m., prompted a massive response from local and federal law enforcement. More than hour after the panic began, UCLA Police Chief James Herren told reporters that the killing may have been a murder-suicide.
http://www.latimes.com/local/lanow/la-me-ln-ucla-shooting-20160601-snap-story.html
Here's hoping it stays at 2 victims, or at best the guy shoots himself.
Prepare for the conspiracy theorists telling this is staged with them crisis actors and stuff.
I'm not condoning violence or shootings, But y'know why can't they shoot up something useful, like scott walker or heroin.
Prepare for the conspiracy theorists telling this is staged with them crisis actors and stuff.
How is this kind of post any better? What's the point? Let's hope the shooter is apprehended quickly and without anymore casualties. Stay classy everybody:
2 dead with no news of a suspect sounds really bad. Hope they can quickly identify and apprehend him.
Campus is still on lockdown, people are slowly being taken out of the neighboring buildings and searched. Friend who was in the building where the initial reports were from says that a professor was shot in his office.
I'm not condoning violence or shootings, But y'know why can't they shoot up something useful, like scott walker or heroin.
Shooters probably would do that if the news didn't make them out to be celebrities
Do we know if this has anything to do with Milo being there yesterday?
Looks like the search was called off appears that he shot his professor and then shot himself.
I've got a lot of buddies over there. But it's good to know that they're all safe.
Looks like the search was called off appears that he shot his professor and then shot himself.
This appears to be correct. There was just a statement on TV saying it was a murder-suicide.
This appears to be correct. There was just a statement on TV saying it was a murder-suicide.
Given its the end of the semester, I'm assuming this is a gross overreaction to bad grades/disliking the professor?
Given its the end of the semester, I'm assuming this is a gross overreaction to bad grades/disliking the professor?
UCLA finals don't start until next week, but yeah it could be a possibility.
Given its the end of the semester, I'm assuming this is a gross overreaction to bad grades/disliking the professor?
I found this Which was from the scanner early on, it appears that one of the people was the shooter unlike what the tweet says and there was a suicide note.
You'd have to be pretty mentally unhinged to consider shooting your professor dead because you didn't like him/he gave bad grades
Given its the end of the semester, I'm assuming this is a gross overreaction to bad grades/disliking the professor?
Probably, although I'm not gonna say any more than that before any identities are released. Given the location that's been reported, it is almost assuredly that the victim was a mechanical engineering professor/faculty.
You'd have to be pretty mentally unhinged to consider shooting your professor dead because you didn't like him/he gave bad grades
You'd have to be pretty mentally unhinged to murder anyone, wouldn't you? I think the mentally unhinged part is already established. If it really was a murder suicide, then the shooter had a clear beef with the person they murdered, rather than just going on a rampage. There must've been some clear motive for it. Crime of passion, of sorts.
So according to the feed from one of my friends seems like it's safe now.

My best friend goes to school there. Nothing's going on. [editline]1st June 2016[/editline] One thing that I really noticed during the whole search/lockdown - there was an absurd amount of misinformation being spread by students that were on campus/in the area. My roommates and I were both hearing from different sources (other students) that there were up to 4 gunmen with rifles, at least 9 shooting victims, spread all across the campus, the dorms, etc. At the same time, any more official source (news, campus alerts) never reported anything of the sort. Given that it turned out to be a murder-suicide, the initial police response made so much more sense - when I first tuned in, the police were sending gurneys into the building and standing outside, most with no weapons at the ready. However, the situation continually escalated despite no new developments. Thankfully, no more tragedy came out of the confusion, but it was still incredibly stressful to hear this disconnect between the news and what the student population was hearing.
This person may have posted about this on r9k
Don't they always say that the shooter may have posted on 4chan about it? Like, literally almost every recent shooting has this shit come up.
Don't they always say that the shooter may have posted on 4chan about it? Like, literally almost every recent shooting has this shit come up.
to the point it's become a meme.

So I guess the last word on this: Professor William Klug of the Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering was confirmed as the victim. I've heard that the perpetrator was a PhD student who failed their final thesis defense or something, and was supposed to graduate but couldn't.
