Yes because that will save you from financial losse. How about make good consoles like you used to with good and fun games that don't require a gimmicky controller?
Nintendo still has like a kajillion dollars from the Wii, and even said at one point they could make multiple completely bombed consoles without having to worry about money that much.
And please, holy shit look up the term gimmick. Not everything that isn't standard mouse and keyboard or 360/ps3 controller is a gimmick.
I don't really mind as long as it is a new IP.
I'd rather not pay $1.99 to get a mushroom powerup.
Seems a bit weird that a company that from what I can tell has been avoiding the whole paid DLC thing(since I don't keep tabs on Nintendo stuff, I apologize if I'm wrong) is considering going into monthly subscriptions.
Nintendo and Square Enix team up once again to make Super Mario MMO
I still don't know why they didn't do a Pokemon MMO yet. Probably the only thing that could beat WoW.
Oh christ not this shit again; just because it used to work for World of Warcraft, doesn't mean monthly subscriptions are good business practice. If anything cosmetic microtransactions are the way to go, selling virtual hats and the like. THAT SAID, Pokemon fans would probably not be too adverse to the concept of a Pokemon MMO. Hell I'd probably be interested from a distance before lamenting the fact that it requires a monthly subscription. Still, a Pokemon MMO would sell like crazy; an open-world filled with Pokemon to catch and battle. Still, I'd much rather they did a less turn-based form of strategy, maybe like a Pokemon fighting game where you actively control the Pokemon rather than shout commands and use items as some kid, with basic attacks building up power for your stronger abilities.
Also, making good games is generally good business practice.
I'm not sure if I would be for or against a LoZ MMO set during the Imprisoning War or Hyrulean Civil War.

Forgot about Pokemon, I would play the shit out of this.
Nintendo will go down the drain if they do this. Not even the family friendly people will like to continue paying off the games for the kids, especially people below the poverty land here and notorious America.
Nintendo should explore making another good Metroid and a good 3D Zelda.
Subscriptions are okay, but not cloud gaming?
Have you even tried playing the Wii U? The controller may be gimmicky, but the gameplay is really great (in my opinion). The gamepad opens up new gameplay possibilities.
Nintendo is most likely already working on new games as we speak. They have already confirmed that they will make a new Zelda game for the Wii U.
Yeah I didn't know what to think of it, but I think it is really great now that I own it.
Between all the new things they can do with it that they showed off in nintendo land and just playing mario on the controller when I want to watch something on tv. It has been great so far, no real complaints besides short battery.

a pokemon mmo could be great if nintendo weren't terrified of online interaction

can't really imagine an mmo by nintendo having any sort of chat system

I can't I have to have a knee jerk reaction based on what someone thinks might happen!!
spoiler: nintendo is greedy as heck

Not like they slashed the 3DS' price and gave people who already had a 3DS free games or anything
