With new shops and restaurants opening at Downtown Disney Walt Disney World almost every month now, while it’s transforming into Disney Springs, it comes as no surprise that we got another announcement.
Next to the just opened BOATHOUSE restaurant a new Disney owned and operated aviation-themed lounge named ‘Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar’ will open its doors this fall. As you may recognize, the name Jock Lindsey comes from the classic Indiana Jones movies and the lounge will be heavily inspired by the popular adventurer and his trusty pilot Jock.
The main room will feature and expansive bar with aviation decor and have seating for 150 guests. Guests who want to get some fresh air together with their drink can do that in Jock’s old steamboat, Reggie, now in permanent dry dock outside the lounge and in nearby seating on the adjacent deck.
Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Br will feature some unique cocktails and small plates for the hungry too. You will be able to sip on “Hovito Mojito”, with Barsol Quebranta Pisco, fresh lime juice and simple syrup, and snack on “Air Pirates Everything Pretzels” with house-made mustard and beer cheese fondue.
HOLY SHIT this is awesome!
I actually managed to land a spot in the Disney College Program, so I'll be working at Walt Disney World for the next seven months. I'll take pictures for you guys (I'll be starting a thread in General Discussion and updating it regularly).
I actually think I'm ok with Disney owning LucasFilms now
At first I thought the world was ending but in retrospect I should've given them a chance first

Orlando.
I hope there's a goblet buffet with the Holy Grail really out of reach.

Awesome :D! I've heard great things about their program from those really into Disney. One of my friends who's also in my graduating class and fraternity got in. If you meet a really energetic dude named Skyler from Kentucky with a passion for theater, keep me in mind and mention it in a post. Looking forward to the thread.
Snake and monkey brains better be on the menu.

Trust me, it is a great experience. I participated in the College Program in 2012, and boy, was it an experience. There is just something about seeing the smiles on the children's faces and helping to deliver the magic. I worked in Hollywood Studios selling ice cream and beverages, but it was worth it. Best job I had.
There needs to be a boulder chasing you when you leave the restaurant.

Is this allowed? I job shadowed an Art Director at California's Disneyland for a school program and I saw behind the scenes of setting up events for Christmas and Halloween and I wasn't allowed to take any pictures. They don't want people being able to take pictures that an average guest can't take.

Hell even as a highschool band member we weren't allowed to take any pictures of the other side of their facads, they're incredibly secretive
If a giant boulder trap doesn't drop behind me as I enter the restaurant and lead me to my table then fuck everything.

Go up to an experienced member of staff and say to them "So, Brazilians are the best guests ever right?"
Please note, I am not responsible for any bodily harm you may come to upon asking this question.

Spring 2012 as well. Quick Service Food and Beverage. It was tough during the winter periods, and then it got really hot once spring arrived. Still, I did things I normally wouldn't of done while there. All the special castmember exclusive events and so.

for the most part it's because they want to keep the magic of the park alive
it becomes a lot less exciting when you know all the inner workings of everything! the imagineers are damn protective over it.
it's great that they're actually taking the IP's they have somewhere
