Belgium's much-loved comic-book reporter has been brought to life for the silver screen in the Oscar winning director's first foray into animation. Featuring the voice of Jamie Bell as Georges 'Herge' Remi's comic book hero, The adventures of Tintin: Secret of the Unicorn brings the character into the 21st century by using the latest digital effects. Alongside Bell in the 3D animation is a star-studded British cast including Daniel Craig, Andy Serkis, Simon Pegg, Nick Frost and Mackenzie Crook. Lord Of The Rings director Peter Jackson is the producer. The film has been a long time in the making, with Spielberg first acquiring rights to the story after Herge's death in 1983. Shooting was supposed to start in 2008 but was delayed after Universal opted out of producing the film and then actor Thomas Sangster, who had been cast as Tintin, quit. The film is due to be released in UK cinemas on October 26.
The Trailer is in the link.
Would have liked to see it done in hand drawn 2D honestly.
This is probably the only movie I'm looking forward to this year.
Won't be the same as in 2D but, ay, might make quite a good movie still.
Does anyone know if it will ever come to America? It only said it would be airing in UK cinemas...
Those animations are godlike

Wow, it actually looks pretty good. High quality trailer #2: [HD]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xz3j8gKRUTg[/HD]
why does it need to have that bullshit 3d
First trailers been out for ages, but still looks awesome.
why does it need to have that bullshit 3d
to make more money duh
It looks good. I remember reading a few pages of Tintin in elementary school. That's aboot it.
why does it need to have that bullshit 3d
I rarely say this but I like this 3D style.
I never thought I'd be excited about a movie that had the subtitle "The Secret of the Unicorn" Can't wait.
Would have liked to see it done in hand drawn 2D honestly.
CGI is far cheaper and less time consuming than 2D drawings. That's why it's become so popular among film developers.
one word: YES.
This looks awesome, I dunno about the quasi-real CGI (polar express anyone?) but they definitely seem to have the style down. Also, Captain Haddock must say blue blistering barnacles at some point.
I was wondering what that subtitle was supposed to mean for a while. Here's hoping it's good.
I googled it and watched this trailer instead of Sky News and until 0:31 I thought it was live action
Oooh, Steven Moffat helped write the screenplay
Steven Moffat... Simon Pegg...Peter Jackson?? I want.
I like it. Yes it's CGI but the fact that for most of us it took half a minute to realize this is high praise. It also sure beats live action with large amounts of CGI. Now we just need to see if what we saw lives up to expectations in theatres.
Er, I saw a trailer for a it a few months ago.
Looks great.
Can't wait, does any one know when its coming out?
Can't wait, does any one know when its coming out?
October
The only thing bothering me is some of the characters' names. Like how Milou is called Snowy. I know they've always had those names in the English translations, but I'm just used to the original French names. It's nothing that'll stop me from enjoying the film though.

I love how the Swedish translations of the hand drawn movies kept him called Milou though
Mmmm, that's good CGI [editline]14th July 2011[/editline] Wait, isn't Edgar Wright producing it? I remember reading about it on his blog
This should be made next
