Astral Projection The study of Out of Body Experinces (OBE) is a very fascinating study. I thought I would bring this to Facepunch today too share some accounts of things I've truly have been unable to explain. What is OBE? OBE is a study/mental state in which the spiritual force of a body is disconnected from the body ,and is free to study on the astral planes. (Reason it's called Astral Projection). OBE is a point which is somewhat... The middle ground of lucid dreaming ,and being awake. You basically let your body fall asleep ,but you let your mind stay awake to cause full thinking capability. Once outside of your body you are able to travel the planes ,but you'll be forced back into your body after a certain period of time do too your body wanting mental and pshyical resting. In my time of being in OBE: To contribute to the thread I've come along to tell of some experiences which have shaken me up for awhile.. The Lady of Black: Probably the most screwed up thing to date which has come from OBE is the Lady of Black. In the area in which I entered the Lady of Black would enslave souls ,and use them has ways to harness spiritual ,and natural energy from the other astral planes. I had a small chat with her (very scary voice may I add),and she explained how the reason people in the stage plane(Earth) go into coma is because of her. When they enter Astral Projection ,and don't visit her once in awhile she uses her mental strength to pull their spiritual energy into her plane... She then decides to release them or hold them prisoner until their real body dies ,and she can force them to be "Wraiths" in the stage plane. I usually visit the lady of black though cause it's rather entertaining to hear her explain how she controls weather or not people lose their lifes in the stage plane. The Hunter: The most... Gamey form of plane I've been in recently was part taken by a man who just goes by Hunter. From what he told me he calls himself the Hunter because he takes the spiritual presence of those who are apart of furry fandom ,and makes them feel the pain of death in his realm... I'm going to say this now... You don't want to know what it feels like having a bear trap caught against your leg ,and someone coming at you with a shotgun that looks like some sort of futuristic death ray. >_< Obelisk Of Truth: Probably the more... Sane areas on the planes I've visited. The Obelisk of Truth is basically exactly what it says... It is a worship sight for in which people speak the truth. I've seen many other spirits in this plane ,but none of which live in a practical area near me... The weird thing I've found out about the OOT is that you have to speak something of the truth too stay. If you speak a lie your kicked out or forcefully watched over ,and shunned on. TIPS: If you want to start trying this out for yourself... I recommend a few things. 1.) Start out with regular dreaming... Make sure you can remember everything which happened in a dream. You can usually say too yourself, "I wont forget! I wont forget!" ,and in the morning write down what you saw in dreams. 2.) After you cleared step one... Your good to start. You should try too do a minimal thing such as extending yourself about two feet above your body. If you enter the state where you can see yourself sleeping then congrats, you've entered the base plane. 3.) Now... Once your in the base plane you'll notice something weird... A big white light(somewhat like a phys gun beam) is against your back ,and linking to your body. Remember when I said, "Your body will pull you back for full mental ,and physical rest"? That is exactly what that cord is for. 4.) Begin to move around your house for your first time... Don't attempt to leave your house. Once you can examine all the rooms go ,and try to enter a plane by imagining the basics of a different world. 5.) If you've entered the next plane you'll have to get... acquainted to whats going on around you. If you imagined a war zone most likely your going to be a war zone so fair warning... Stay away from violence. 6.) First Trys don't last really long... So you'll be forced back into your body... 7.) When you wake up fully write down what you had done in a journal or a piece of paper ,and keep it nearby too your bed ,and read it too yourself before going to sleep again or try attempting OBE again. After doing some rinse ,and repeat you should be able to do OBE after a week or so. Some people who can already do this I would like to see some posts on what you've seen or experienced in your time of the other planes/realms.
Sounds creepy... Also how exactly can you go into the state of seeing yourself sleeping?
Jesus Christ sounds creepy but awesome, I'd be scared if I accidentally wondered into a warzone or something
Jesus Christ sounds creepy but awesome, I'd be scared if I accidentally wondered into a warzone or something
It happens... Just make sure not too touch the cord.... You disconnect that in any shape or form ,and your screwed.
It's all psycological.
I heard if you eat a lot of chocolate before going to bed, you'll wake up in the middle of the night unable to move. It feels like you're on LSD.
I heard if you eat a lot of chocolate before going to bed, you'll wake up in the middle of the night unable to move. It feels like you're on LSD.
Thats called sleep paralysis. It's where the body doesn't wake up with the brain.
Thats called sleep paralysis. It's where the body doesn't wake up with the brain.
damn, if that ever happened to me id shit a brick, being paralyzed would be horrible.
I tried and I found this.
damn, if that ever happened to me id shit a brick, being paralyzed would be horrible.
It's temporary. Usually your body regains motion after about... 2-4 minutes.
I had a thread about sleep paralysis it got locked but I'm sure if you search for it you'll find it.
It's temporary. Usually your body regains motion after about... 2-4 minutes.
I know that, im talking about if i had no prior knowledge of the effects of eating a lot of chocolate before sleeping.
I had an out of body experience one time when I was really high. It was fucking rad. [editline]08:07AM[/editline] fookin ninja
Salvia is your best bet.
I OBE every night. Some of the weirdest shit can happen. Movies could be written on some of this shit.
I had an OBE when I was 7 and I can still remember what happened, I was like a camera in a corner, I could see everything going on around me. I remember seeing black shapes with a cord around them. Then I was yanked back into this world. Really wierd, but I can remember every second of it.
OP how often do you have OBE's? I'm really interested but I know I would psych myself out and end up getting permanent damage or something.
I had an out of body experience the other day, her name was Jesus.
OP how often do you have OBE's? I'm really interested but I know I would psych myself out and end up getting permanent damage or something.
I do it every so often. To avoid permanent damage... Just don't think of violence. Anything relating to violence will get you in a very screwed up area...
I keep trying and fail :( I have a few .pdfs from Robert Bruce. Though a few days ago I had a spontaneous one, but I fought hard to remain in my body because I saw this big face staring down at me. Then a few min later it happened again, I wiggled my toe (Which is useful when paralyzed) and aborted the OBE. I now regret it.

Just like telekinesis, if there were any truth behind this stuff other than some kind of fucked up state of dreaming, which of course, is all psycological, then it would be a well known and proven study, and not some thing which you might or might not have heard of. If everyone saw things the same in these out of body experiences then there would be something to it, but quite frankly if you see anything at all it will either be materialised from your own excitement and want for an out of body experience, or it will be some kind of fucked up half-dream state, there's no proof that there is anything spiritual about it. [editline]02:45PM[/editline] To make it clear, I'm not saying there's nothing to this, I'm just saying it's a fucked up dream of sorts and not spiritual. The whole planes thing is bullshit because it's as feasable as two people having identical dreams.

The whole planes thing is bullshit because it's as feasable as two people having identical dreams.
The planes part is silly. So is the whole damage to you/your body/your brain concept. It's lucid dreaming, that's all it is. Half of these tactics to help you get this to work are what you do for lucid dreaming. All this person has done is learned is to (more or less) lucid dream in third person instead of first person. And that makes complete sense, although I can't prove how it's done. But some dreams of mine are first person and I'm in control and some I'm not, although I still can mess with some surroundings. Stop trying to be scientific and smart and be all "oh make sure you don't hurt yourself". It's your imagination. Dream. Violence won't hurt you.. although if the lucid dreams one of those that are as real as it gets.. you may be gripping your bed the moment you wake up. I've done that once or twice. No damage.. just a bit of panick and a "man I'm stupid" laugh.
OBEs are bullshit, they're just lucid dreams in which you think you are actually leaving your body. Difference between an OBE is a belief in some supernatural jargon, whilst lucid dreaming is scientifically proven.
It's all psycological.
This.
You fell asleep and had dreams about this bullshit because you were thinking about it.
It's lucid dreaming. Not "obe".
It's lucid dreaming. Not "obe".
Lucid dreaming is different than obe dreaming.
Can you interact with stuff? like knock over a glass?
You guys are on drugs dude.
